General Questions

This is my first time playing in a play by post game. I have a few general questions.

How do we resolve checks?

How do we deal with "once per session" style abilities?

I guess I just have those two questions for now.

Depends on checks.

There's a door and you state you try the knob, if it makes sense you have the skillset to open an unlocked door it happens no roll. If it's something locked a skullduggery type roll to lockpick or bumping the door with a shoulder might be suggested by the PC if they think that's more in character.

Another example would be a high chain fence how do you get around, you could try and just climb up, I'd state an athletic check and give difficulty, if you're trying to get some way up the wall to jump off to climb up and over coordination. Knocking on the back door to a business and see if they don't mind you coming through to get around a social check. You might ask if there's a dumpster on wheels close by you can push over, if not would you like to spend a story point to make it so comes to mind as the GM to ask the player.

I figure once per session although not static in relation would reset each month. Although I hope we can get 'a session' done in a month I get life and work might slow things down.

Just checking in since it's been a month since this was created. Did you two want to proceed as a duo or would you prefer if I advertised a bit and get some more people in your group?

I actually found us a third yesterday and I’m helping him do character creation.

Yay! I’d have been happy to get a character started and get going just the two of us but a third player will be all the better :) Will sort my character out before the weekend

Just to let everyone know I'm having a few internet issues at home at the moment (damn thing keeps dropping out, have reported it and waiting on a new router which should be some time this week) and I'll be going on holiday at the end of the week so my ability to regularly post will be a tad cut down for the next couple of weeks

Jackson is back on the path but not near the rest and the rest haven't looked for her yet so I was mostly waiting to see what people were going to do. Or I can fast forward tomorrow if there's no activity today.

Good to know, MYDN has been inactive for over 3 weeks though.

Hey, folks! I just got accepted into the game today. I'll work up a character hopefully in the next couple of days.

been under an hour since he was excepted, might still need to come up with a concept... Soon TM?

We have a gruff PI, a plucky computer hacker, and an almost Olympic sharpshooter.

My first instinct was to go with an intrepid reporter, but I think that would overlap the PI too much. Looks like a brawler might be useful? Some muscle for the investigation team? I could maybe go with a rough-and-tumble street kid who specializes in Brawl and Streetwise. Or maybe a professional bodyguard (or bouncer) who has Brawl and Vigilance as focuses?

Whatever you think would make this secret society find you useful. 😆

So where are we with this? Are we integrating Bob’s character into the gypsy thing? Are we out of combat now that they ran off?

I would say I need to work her in. Yep back in RP mode. Considering what got sent up that should be a bit of a clue.
