You all keep watch through the rest of the night, asides from a few nervous twitches when the odd night creature makes it's presence known things pass without further incident. As the first light of dawn starts to creep over the horizon the remaining crew begin to rise and you are relieved and told to get some sleep, the crew members who were ordered to keep watch with you for the rest of the night are not so lucky as they still have duties they need to perform.
You head below decks to the corner of the cargo deck that you have been using as your quarters and all quickly settle down for some well earned rest. After what you assume to be a few hours you are roused to the sound of shouting coming from above decks, a tense moment as you all assume the worst and start reaching for weapons passes as you come to the realization it is just the usual sounds of the crew getting the barge ready to dock and you also become aware of the other noises you can hear from the near distance indicating that the
Bilge Runner have finally arrived at Dawnsmoor.
OOC:
Given that you all had a good nights rest you can get all your Strain back.
You begin to gather you belongings as you hear the thump of the ship as it comes into dock. Coming back on deck you can see the city of Dawnsmoor around you. The city sprawls across the surrounding hills to the south of the Flametail River and the lack of any real city walls seems to have allowed the city to expand out in a pretty chaotic fashion. Large sections of the city seem to comprise of fairly ramshackle buildings, no real common style is apparent other than a walled section you can see in one of the more elevated areas which even at this distance is fairly evident to be mostly elven architecture. As you are taking in the sight of the city a number of porters, mostly orcs and a few humans, come trotting towards the ship and begin carting the cargo the bilge runner is unloading up the dock. A small group stand at the edge of the dock, a human scribe who seems to be making a note of the various crates and other items coming off of the
Bilge Runner and a bored looking elven noble or official and a couple of other elven guards keping an eye on proceedings.
As you stand to the side, trying to keep out of the way as best you can, Captain Kirrill comes over to you all
"Well then, it seems luck was with us for the last stretch as we didn't see any hide nor hair of those goblins again. You all have my thanks for your vigilance, I know we agreed that your payment would be your passage here but if those goblins had gotten past you all it could have been a proper mess if they'd gotten below to where we were all sleeping so here" he thrust out a small coin pouch to you
"It's not much but should be enough to keep you going for a few days". He takes a moment to shake all of your hands as you head off the barge and you quickly find yourselves with the city before you all.
