Before we get too far into this game, I want to make sure I state this clearly up front.

World of Darkness is exactly that. It is dark and often ugly. We will be playing a game of monsters. Even the heroes are often deeply flawed. I'm not particularly fond of being gratuitous just for shock value, but there are times where it can serve the narrative to explore uncomfortable subject matter.

If there are some things that are triggering for you, I will try to avoid such things if you let me know in advance. If something unexpected comes up that we haven't discussed. Let me know and we can fade to Black or otherwise move the story along. Feel free to discuss it here or in your private subforum if you would prefer.

I expect the same level of respect from my players. Don't just be gross to be gross or upsetting. If I feel like you're taking things to far, I will contact you privately to try and steer it to a better place. If you refuse to take a hint, I reserve the right to remove you from this game. I will not do so lightly, but I also will not allow one person to ruin everyone else's enjoyment of the game.

If you're not sure, ask me privately before posting.

I am a parent and feel I only have one topic that I would like to mark as out of bounds...children. Now, what I mean by that is don't describe the murder or harm of children directly in detail specifically. That doesn't mean an orphanage can't burn down, or a bomb can't go off at a museum where kids are on a field trip, or that a character (PC or NPC) can't have a history as an abused child, or having lost a child to violence and/or tragedy. Those broad descriptions are fine. I mean specific detailed accounts. If we meet a kid with bruises, that is probably OK, but I'd rather not have the acts described in detail "on camera" as it were.

It might be an odd line to draw, but go crazy on adults/older teens and my brain processes it as just harmless fake RPG fun. Get small kids involved, I get bothered. To give a specific example, I like most of Stranger Things, but when the character of Will Byers was shown in the Upside Down during Season 1, I didn't like it. When they did the autopsy on his supposed body...even though it was a fake body, it was enough to creep me out. Or...I thought The Mist was great...right up until the end. I don't remember the kid being threatened much, but that ending...still gets me just thinking about it.

I can watch Friday the 13th or Nightmare or any number of other Horror movies and have a good time, but the moment the victims get younger than 16 or so, I quit having fun. So that is my peace. Like I said, it can happen off camera, or in passing, where it doesn't need to be described, but no baby killing front and center.

Drug use, Sexy-times, or violence are all ok among adults in my book. Kids are the only thing I ask us to be cool about.

Totally understandable.

I have no problem with anything but I'm sure we can all agree that writing sex in detail is not something we want to do on a RPG form.

I agree to all of the above, no graphic depictions of child violence, no graphic depictions of sex.

Cool. I agree with all of that (not that I needed to). For what it's worth none of the things mentioned are really planned elements of this story, but this is free form storytelling and sometimes things can go in unexpected directions.

I don't want to limit peoples creativity or anything but we can be mindful about the level of detail we use for sensitive topics or if deciding from multiple courses of action, you can steer away from these.

Im okay with more vagueness on the matter, but to be honest hyper detail of rape scenes has made me leave WoD games in the past, and I thought I should throw that out there as well.

I am okay with it, to use MushroomMage's term, if it happens "Off Camera."

I have no barriers when it comes to advancing the plot, but respect all of the above guidelines.

I'm good with like, adult activities and fading-to-black whenever needed. Violence and combat in a setting with monsters and criminals is expected, but I'm not into writing about like, excessive gore and being gross either. Basically I agree with everyone else's guidelines too.

I have read over all this. It sounds very reasonable, and more so I agree.

I agree with everything said here :) i have no other requests. Though i am 16, so I hope everyone can stay clear from any dark dark side of things :)

I think we're all more or less on the same page. If anyone becomes uncomfortable with the subject matter, don't hesitate to say something in OOC chat or in a PM to me.
