Naji practically lunges for the keys blowing past the others. A small yelp of excitement escapes her as she dashes to the driver side door. "Is it a stick shift? I just started learning to drive stick. She hops in and starts fidling with everything she can reach from the driver's seat.

Tremor catches a glimpse of his AI companion across the garage and beckons him over. He spins his head back toward the van as the over-excited female who asked him about his horns starts playing with van like a new toy. Crooking an eyebrow, he asks, "You sure you know what you're doing?"
OOC:
Not sure how to put a picture of Cap up here for people...
Aug 30, 2018 11:09 pm
"Oh sure. My friends and I boos....um borrow...I've driven tons of times, back in the day. Mostly use the bus and subway these days, but as long as it isn't a stick I'll get us there safe and sound-ish." Naji leans back in the seat and takes another look around. "Its not a stick right? I don't see the little knobby thing, but I haven't seen every possible configuration."
Aug 31, 2018 12:03 am
"No, it appears to be automatic." Tremor moves to the back of the van, helps Cap inside and gets in after his diminutive mechanical companion. "And try not to draw too much attention to us. Drive...casual." He smirks.
Aug 31, 2018 3:39 am
Rodrigo installs himself in the front passenger seat as quickly as Naji hops into the driver's spot beside him. "Everybody hurry up! We've got a job to do! You think you can get us there in less than 55, Naji?"

"Recommendation: Hack into city infrastructure.

Objectives:
1. Control traffic signals to reduce transit time.
3. Access security feed at target area.
4. Determine optimal infil points.
5. Identify and cut off goblin escape routes."
OOC:
PROWL can hack but I'm sure others are way better at it. PROWL can assist (Help action for advantage) whoever attempts the hack.

"You got it boss. Buckle up!" Naji doesn't quite peel out of the garage, but comes close. "Yeah that'd help if someone could make that happen." She says in reply to Prowl.

"On it." Jericho’s voice is deep, with a faint echo behind each word. As he fishes his tablet out of his jacket, the robotic bug flying out to attach to the hood of the van. A few more of those tendrils snake out and jack in, pulling up an image of the drone, and it’s eyes light up the same blue as it’s owner’s, acting as a transmitter as Jericho attempts to gain access to the city’s traffic grid.
OOC:
Hacking tools? Hacking tools.

Hacking - (1d20+8)

(11) + 8 = 19

Tremor acknowledges the hacking request and begins to fish out his gear, but stops when he hears Jericho's, On it! He looks over at Cap, shrugs, and gives his AI a wink. He then turns his attention to the hacker to observe his skill.

Rearing to go, Naji brings the (automatic) van through the garage's underground exit. Driving upwards through the spiral tunnel, it takes a minute before you finally reach the outside, sunlight replacing the fluorescent lights from below. Exiting R&R's back parking garage the security gate opens as Naji drives north toward their destination. Rush hour might've affected the commute time, but through a combination of legally questionable maneuvers, convenient green-lights and back-road driving a "Welcome to Castaic" sign greets you from I-5 after 30 minutes.

Compared to LA it seems like such a small town, roads are much more sparse and it has a calmer atmosphere compared to the big city. Driving to the eastern part of town you can smell water mixed in the dry air, likely from the lake. From half a mile you can see the diner in question up a small windy road.
OOC:
OK mission start.

OOC:
Were we able to gain any intel on Objectives 2, 3, and 4 from the hack?
Aug 31, 2018 6:56 pm
OOC:
Not from the traffic hack, that had its own positive effect. But anyone can try to hack before moving in.
Aug 31, 2018 7:27 pm
As the van approaches the team's destination, Tremor accesses his hacking equipment and attempts to access the security cameras on-site.
OOC:
Am I figuring the modifier correctly? +5 for attribute bonus and +2 for hacking tool proficiency?

Edit: It seems not to matter since I rolled a 1 ... (but for next time, did I do it correctly?)

There's still the Help action from PROWL so I think Tremor could roll again?

While the hackers are busy hacking, Rodrigo keeps a sharp lookout for a possible ambush on the winding road. "Prowl, recon. Get inside if you can, but wait to engage. Stay on comms, and don't get caught." Turning to the others, "Can any of you send your drones or assistants or whatever so we can get eyes up there before they get eyes on us?"
OOC:
What's the time of day? Will it be dark anytime soon?

"Affirmative." PROWL responds. As the robot steps out of the van its metallic surface ripples and morphs, and PROWL takes on a feline form before disappearing into the woods(?) beside the road.

OOC:
It is about 9 AM
From the van Rodrigo doesn't see any signs of ambush, similarly PROWL finds nothing out of the ordinary.

Sneaking through the (somewhat sparse) foliage and trees PROWL seemingly vanishes from sight as he zeroes in on the diner parking lot.
Sep 1, 2018 5:29 pm
PROWL stays low as it circles around the back of the diner.
OOC:
Is there anyone about (goblins, civilians, or local law enforcement)? Do I spot any exterior security cams? How many doors, windows, ventilation shafts, thermal exhaust ports, etc?

OOC:
Second roll for attempted hack into security cameras.

Rolls

Hack - (1d20+7)

(17) + 7 = 24

As PROWL approaches the side of the building you hear an AC unit whirring above you somewhere on the roof, and can just barely see the top of an exhaust port sticking out. The property is eerily quiet, you suspect it doesn't get much business. Hugging the wall and peeking around the corner a back entrance is in plain view, a damaged sign sits by the door proudly displaying "Now Open at 10AM EVERY DAY". More importantly a camera is watching the door. You are confident it has not spotted your trespass.

Meanwhile in the van Tremor finds himself looking through the eyes of the low-quality cameras around the diner. First one shows what appears to be a back entrance, nothing of note except some debris. Second displays the kitchen, you see what you assume is a goblin scurry from the floor to a small room, closing the door on their way in. The last is undoubtedly the dining area. The lights are out, making the already poor camera vision even more difficult to discern, but you definitely make out moving shapes on the counter, you count five.
OOC:
Just a reminder everyone else is still a fair bit away, I don't use exact mathematics for calculations at this range but wanted to make sure we're on the same page.
