"Yes, that hammer does look smashing."

The racial issues Jersey spoke of were painfully familiar to Cole. How many members of the less human-looking species had hated him on sight because of his appearance? How many negotiations had almost broken down completely because he was too human, too unencumbered by difference? Cole always remembered that he was trying to help everyone regardless of appearance, and that had served him well so far. It would hopefully continue to serve him well always.

"And your name again? I didn't get the last shriek. I'd like to at least try to say it."
Oct 25, 2018 1:47 pm
Jersey opened his mouth and the sounds of crying babies mixed with the screams of a woman being tortured, the screech of an attacking eagle, all with the subtext of normal speech resembling "Izbit" came forth.

Before the two rookies can continue any further, the door is swept open by Isabelle, looking somewhat frazzled with laptop in hand. "Sorry I'm late! Minor diagnostic error which created- Y'know what it doesn't matter." Taking a seat at the end she notices the new members Good, everyone is here. Lets just jump right into it. Hitting a few keystrokes and spins her laptop around, displaying the now subdued goblinoids.

"First thing: Good work out there team! A successful operation with only one casualty! I think the director is pleased too, because he has decided this case will be handled solely by our team. Primary objective is uncovering where these weapon shipments are going, who else is involved, and what this "Dream Lord" character is. The civilian hasn't been questioned yet, and Ulgrik has so far been unresponsive. Whats our next move?" Spinning her laptop back around, the sound of typing fills the air.
OOC:
I don't really want Isabelle to tell the party what to do, feels too railroad-y for me.

Also I like the new characters, very interesting.

As Isabelle set up, Cole formed the feelings of sadness, fear, pain, and bloodlust into a thought wrapped around the word 'Izbit'. Once created, he telepathically said this name of darkness to Jersey.

"Close enough?" he then asked Jersey mentally.

"Questioning the civilian and Ulgrik should be top priority. If you want, I can help with that."

Cole hesitated a bit.

"The Kalashtar religion's version of the Devil is a dream demon. Sorry, Jersey. Anything like this always interests me."

"I must confess, interrogation is not my strong suit. I think Cole and Jersey would make a good tandem for this purpose. What do you think?"
OOC:
I'm picturing the perfect good cop/ bad cop routineby these two, but this is just a suggestion. :-)

Jersey looked over at Cole.

Getting there. You start, signal me in when you have them comfortable?

He hoped the vague speak would work as a double meaning for Cole and not be too awkward for the others.

"I don't soften anyone up so bruisers can come in and bash information out of them. Jersey's presence might be helpful when I talk with Ulgrik but there's no need to scare the civilian. If my initial methods don't work, then we can see about more advanced techniques with Ulgrik," Cole said adamantly.
Oct 25, 2018 11:49 pm
Puh-lease, everyone knows that you don't have to hit the soft ones. You just make them think that you'll hit them.

Jersey smiled wide.

Ulgrik doesn't seem so soft, though. Call me if you need me. I'm set to channel 4.

He sauntered out of the room and headed down the hallway to the nearest restroom.

With the meeting suddenly adjourned Isabelle holds the door open for Kolinahr "Follow me, I'll take you to the interrogation room." Following close behind she takes you past the cafeteria, down a flight of stairs, and along the security checkpoint to the holding cells. You are of course cleared for entry, and find yourself looking at Ulgrik from the other side of a two-way mirror. Limbs restrained to a steel chair, his eyes are closed as a bright ceiling light clearly illuminates the small holding cell. An orc who stands guard by the entrance gives you a small nod upon your arrival, placing herself in front of a security monitor overlooking the interrogation room. "He's a tough one." She says plainly, lighting a cigarette.
OOC:
If anyone wants to do some more RP before leaving the conference room feel free, also to anyone not interrogating if you wish to do something else to help with the investigation (research goblins, look through their belongings, or anything else you can think of) go ahead.

"I should've been more clear: I'll talk to the civilian. I'm a familiar face, might help put him at ease. You two work on Ulgrik. And if even you two can't budge him, we'll send in Prowl. I'm sure that will have Ulgrik pissing his pants in no time."

"What exactly do you want me to try and get out of him?"
OOC:
Any relevant info would be great.
Oct 26, 2018 5:53 pm

Primary objectives:
1. Uncover destination of weapons shipments.
2. Ascertain identity of involved parties.
3. Determine identity of entity known as "Dream Lord".

"Thank you, Prowl."

The warforged was matter of fact in an eerie way, Cole thought.

"I have ways of making Ulgrik talk that won't require overt threats. If Jersey tries some macho crap, it could break my rapport and my spells. He can be there but we'll need to talk beforehand. How has Ulgrik behaved while in custody, Isabelle?"
Oct 28, 2018 4:23 am
"Doesn't speak a word, just stares coldly at everyone. I'm certain he will attempt an escape the first chance he gets, you can see it in his eyes. I don't recommend talking to his partner either, alot angrier, we had to give him a sedative. " Isaelle's tone is nonchalant, as if she's dealt with this scenario before.
Oct 28, 2018 4:55 am
"I'll be combining spells with psychology so I'd like to be in the room with Ulgrik while we talk. No mirrors or walls or microphones between us."

Cole sighed.

"Isn't Jersey done in the bathroom yet?"

While waiting for the devil-man, Cole thought back on what he knew of any goblin-related issues.

"Good plan, doubt he'd be anymore willing to talk to someone he can't see."

Cole while goblins aren't known to attack innocents, you recall several incidents in the past decade involving goblinoids and petty crime. Notably: theft of jewelry or other such valuables, which would be sold through various black markets. Most goblins or even hobgoblins who are caught claim to pursue illegal activities in hopes of rising above others in some way, ultimately craving power.
OOC:
I'm pretty sure Jersey is on standby for if you need some bad-cop action.
Oct 28, 2018 6:11 am
With his mind clear and focused, Cole asked for a moment alone with Jersey to discuss strategy before they went in.
Oct 28, 2018 11:36 am
"Given the time-sensitive nature of this matter, Prowl and I will speak with the civilian while Cole and Jersey are interrogating Ulgrik. We can compare notes after. We haven't a moment to waste! Come on, Prowl."
OOC:
I assume PROWL will be glamoured and we will be posing as police officers?
Oct 28, 2018 11:47 am
PROWL follows Rodrigo's lead.
Oct 29, 2018 6:28 pm
Not far from the holding cells Rodrigo and Prowl enter the quarantine zone. It is here civilians who came into contact with the supernatural are placed for evaluation and possible integration, depending on the level of exposure they have experienced. Similarly outfitted with a hidden room for Lock members to spectate a subject through video monitors, the holding room in view looks much more inviting, modeled after a hospital room. The elderly civilian in question is lying on a bed with eyes half open, clean bandages adorning his body.

A lone halfling sporting a lab coat inhabits the room, smiling when you enter. "Oh good, you're here. He's stable, the goodberries and nurse personnel made sure of that. Only problem is whether he's still a Joe or not, though I suppose we're about to find out right?" He gives a thumbs-up.
