Walking down the alley mutes some of the ambient noise of the foot traffic. All (but PROWL) faintly smell grease and meat grilling, the smell emanating from inside. Sitting on the steps leading up to the side entrance is a typical man: bald, slight wrinkles around face, average height. He is currently looking at the clouds, enjoying a smoke break by the looks of it.

"Hey, man. You work here?" Cole asked. He approached as obviously as possible, and kept his hands visible at all times.
Feb 11, 2019 8:57 pm
"Hmm?" He turns toward you, offering a friendly face. "Yeah, just taking my lunch break before the evening rush. You guys need something?" He points his cigarette-holding hand at the others, ashing his dart while hes at it.

"Yeah. We've got merchandise we heard people here would be interested in. When you're done that cig, could you take us to someone who does the buying and selling?"

"For real? Look man, I already got the cops on my ass aft- Oh, you must mean Tracy. give me a second." He stamps out his cigarette and enters the building. A couple minutes pass before you hear the door open with a squeak. Out walks a Half-orc, wearing a tank top, ripped jeans, black hair, and a half interested gaze. You see a haze around her body, indicating proper glamour use.
"You guys got something for us? We looking for unique pieces, game-changers only." With arms crossed she cuts to the chase.

"We brought a sample of what we can supply, yeah. Didn't want to bring a whole lot until we were sure you were interested. Is there somewhere we can show you the merch and talk in private? Too many prying eyes out here."
OOC:
Not sure if rolls are necessary but here are two Persuasion rolls with Psychic Glamour advantage.Rolls

She stares at Cole, silently judging your character. "Yeah? Fine, come with me." Apparently satisfied she leads everyone into the kitchen. It is abuzz with activity: Waiters easily maneuver around cooks to grab platters of food while cooks shout out to each other, asking for this or that. Tracy pays them no mind, walking to the east end. "I don't handle any of this business, but I get a cut of it all the same. I've never seen you guys before so I'm giving a fair warning: Be cool, and don't piss anyone off." Pulling out a key she unlocks tall double doors, pushing them open to reveal a small room with absolutely nothing, save a concrete staircase down. It smells...dusty, and the singular light bulb doesn't offer much brightness despite how cramped the room fells.
Another metal door is at the bottom of this narrow passageway which Tracy unlocks. Holding the door open she gestures inside. "Go, you will be called for business shortly." No turning back now, as you enter the entrance slams shut.
You find yourselves in the tavern from before. It might've been a little cozy with its simple wooden tables and plenty of free stools around the bar area, although the air lingers with that drab smell from the staircase, and the walls are sporting some gashes between the light fixtures and posters for rock bands. About 15 individuals litter the place, most are chatting quietly while a game of darts is underway. Above the racks of booze is a sign that reads "Take the swordsman's thirst challenge", a simple looking sword of white steel half exposed in it's sheath mounted next to it. Below this display is the only person to pay you any mind: the hobgoblin bartender, who has been sizing everyone up the moment they stepped in, twice even for Prowl.

Cole went to the bar. If the hobgoblin was the only person to acknowledge them, he would make the most of it.
"Hey, barkeep, what's the swordsman's thirst challenge?" Cole asked the hobgoblin.

He snickers at the suggestion, putting away some glasses while answering. "Oh that? Just a little game we like to play, and it helps settle arguments. Supposedly inspired by some traveling swordsmen who could do all these sword tricks in exchange for free booze. Whatcha do is take that sword and see if you can slice three bottle caps lined up in a row off of the bottles. Succeed, the drinks are on the house, plus everyone here will think it's pretty damn cool. If you fail, you buy the drinks, don't care how much glass fell into it." He makes a chopping motion with one of his hands, smacking a glass into the air and catching it during the descent.
I'm experimenting with google slides for the map, it needs more work.
OOC:
There is enough seats for the gang to huddle around the bar, alternatively the southeast-most table is free.I'm experimenting with google slides for the map, it needs more work.

"Have at it," a slightly amused Cole responded, "just make sure the sword is sharp."

PROWL scans the room for Carles' son, Alan.

Jericho looks to the others, and silently indicates the table to the southeast. Best to have somewhere away from the ears of others if there are to be any last-minute plans.

"I'll watch from a distance, thanks."
He wondered if Diaz would really do it. Cole sat down with the others, taking the time to give the room another once over.

[ +- ] Cole
Scoping out the patrons you determine a few things: The scant few people drinking alone litter the bar and the central tables which you suspect are rather drunk judging by their unsteady heads and poor motor skill. The largest group comprising of 3 tieflings and 4 orcs are having a swell time, using the dartboard located in the northeast corner and cracking jokes at each other. Finally a small group of three goblins is huddled close together in the northwestern table, murmuring about how loud the others are.
[ +- ] PROWL
Looking around you don't spot anyone who could resemble Alan.
Placing three bottles of the finest cheap domestic beer along the counter, the bartender reaches for the sword, offering it to Rodrigo with two hands as if he was being knighted. A few laugh at the gesture. "Your blade."
Grasping it in your hands, this weapon feels extremely light, like it could fly right out of your hands.
OOC:
Your kensai weapon is technically longswords right? Either way make an attack roll with an extra +1

"Do you want a little help with this? I can inspire you a bit," Cole thought in Rodrigo's mind.
"You can do it, dude. We believe in you," he said with a mocking chuckle from across the room.

OOC:
If Rodrigo thinks back 'yes', Cole will give him one Bardic Inspiration d8 to add to one ability check, attack roll, or saving thrown of his choice. This can be added after seeing the roll, but before knowing the outcome.Feb 14, 2019 7:16 am
Rodrigo holds the sword, unsheathed, closes his eyes, steadies his breathing, and stills his mind,. "Yes." he replies to Cole in his mind. Then, with one quick motion, he draws, slashes, and sheathes.

Rodrigo might not need the assistance but Cole gave it to him nonetheless.
OOC:
Here's 1d8 for you to use within the next 10 minutes. Use it wisely!Feb 14, 2019 7:42 am
OOC:
I did mean to say "Yes" to Cole, but forgot to put it in when I posted. I've edited the post. It was probably unwise for me to waste it on a roll that was likely already a success, but this scene is just begging for something extra cool! Total roll = 30.EDIT: I forgot to add the +1 like you said! So the result is actually 31!
