You headed to this city based on a rumor that came to you both at a tavern not too far from here: Verglar Dethen, real estate mogul, was struck by a serpent, and is now lying on his deathbed, awaiting his death. His family has offered 5 choice properties around this city to the persons who secure an antidote to the poison.
Altorn, lucky for you, you know of a person who specializes in the arcane rites associated with serpents. In fact, you know that he is so obsessed with snakes and slithery things that he stays enclosed in his tower, The Tower of Black Flame.
You have been here before, but your companion Kossk has not. Good thing you brought him along, though. He is an accomplished thief, but is also quite intimidating. A good body guard to have around, that one is.
You all head in the direction of the tower.

But it isn't owned currently by the genuinely kind mage of when you visited last time...in the future. It was owned by the hated Kelauklyth, a sorcerer obsessed with serpentine creatures.
Also, most nights flames emanated from the top, but it is rumored in the stonequay district (southeast of the tower's location) that it has not been seen in some time. You decide to investigate, so you head in that direction.
You decide to head out from the Bazaar Quarter (north of the tower) in the late afternoon, hiding among the crowds in the city as you journey in that general direction, keeping tabs on your surroundings.
After asking around, you found out that there is a resident expert on serpents in the city. WHAT LUCK!!!
You head in the direction of his abode, the Tower of Black Flame. You've heard this man is a recluse. That doesn't much bother you...you are one, too. But this opportunity would be beneficial to you, for sure.
You decide to head out from the Silk Exchange, a building in the Tir-Paland region (west of the tower) in the late afternoon, hoping that this sorcerer will hear your plea and help, or if you can maybe borrow one of his serpents...
