Chapter 2: The path to enlightenment is blood

The old man turn his head and sees you all. He grimaces. "Oh visitors... wonderful." He talks to the dirt creatures quietly then sends them off. They are holding more rock carving instruments. His piercing gaze looks down at the helmet. His frown deepens. "Ahhh Number One brought you. But what happened to his body?!"

"He... may have been attacked by undead goblins," Daniel says, holding the head up for the man to see better.

"Hmmmm..." The man nods unperturbed. "So much work to be done. The alignment process must be perfect. Yes. Yes. Back to work I go." And he walks away from the group.

"Hey!" Daniel calls as the man begins to walk away, "That's all? What do we do with this thing?"

The old man looks back bewildered. "Oh yeah... you take it through the door of course." He points off to the west. "It has been acting up lately. But the latest stabilization runes should fix that. Otherwise who knows where you might end up!" He says with a jovial laugh.

Daniel nods, "Thanks," he says, taking the head with him through the indicated door.

You head towards the west. The path curves a bit. The carvings in the stone are more intricate than the other areas. Finally you see before you a great iron door and frame. Strangely the door leads to nowhere. It is a door and frame right in the middle of a small gorge. The door has fine spidery runes etched into the frame. The door is polished and almost shiny. It has complicated circles and strange colored stones on it. It seems as if the stones can be moved

One speaks up. "Ahhhh, there it is. We need to align the stones, three rubies 170 degrees clockwise from the gold marker in perihelion, that is the large gold marker at the top. The agate 30 degrees, the three jade stones 45 degrees, the onyx 320, the nightstone 200 degrees, the silver trapezoid 4 rotations from its current position and rough oxidized copper globe must be in line exactly with the gold marker."
