Checking to see if there is interest for folks to play Coriolis.

For those unfamiliar:

Coriolis is a space opera style game set in an alternate far future. Best described as Firefly meets 1001 Arabian Nights. Think Firefly but substitute a western/chinese theme with an eastern/arabic theme.

You will be the crew of a mid sized freighter taking on jobs and exploring the universe.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

"I’m getting a signal." Dalil’s voice crackled over the com. "We’re close." The navigator gazed into the darkness ahead, his face ghostly pale in the cold glow from the tabula in his hands.

Radwa nodded silently for her comrades to advance, approaching the strange ruins in the moonscape. The only sound they could hear was their own breathing through the air filters, and the soft crunch under their boots. The floodlights from the freighter Narzalus behind them cast long shadows of the trio.

"Something is wrong, boss." The sharp voice of Jhara broke the silence. Her vulcan rifle hummed as the tall woman from Sadaal activated her weapon. Without turning, Radwa raised her hand to still her friend.

"Easy, Jha," she whispered over the com.

The explorers shone their suit-mounted flashlights over the ruins. Alien signs were carved into the smooth dark surfaces. In the light, they seemed to be glowing.

Something slowly unraveled before them. A darkness rose from the surface of the dead moon, reaching towards the starry sky above them.

Mechanics:

Coriolis is a skill based system using only D6 dice. You describe what you want to do, and if the need presents itself, make a skill check to determine the extent of your success. Only 6's are successes, but the number of 6's you roll will determine the level of success and can trigger other effects for yourself or your crew.

About This Game:

This is an introductory game called "The last voyage of the Ghazali". It is fairly short but, if the players want to continue there is plenty of open space out there to explore.

I would be looking for 5 players to form a crew and explore the stars ... and the Dark between them.

If this sounds interesting take a look at the quick start guide to give yourself a feel for the game. There are pre-gen characters in the back as well as a short adventure you can look at to get a feel for the setting. Don't worry, we won't be playing that particular adventure.

This looks interesting. I might take you up on it.

Currently reading the quickstart to get a feel of how this works, but I'm interested in the setting.

Gosh darnit! I told myself no more games. But I have to join this one. Arabian Nights! Heck yeah. Inspiration is Firefly, Alien and Revelation Space by Alastair Reynolds! Count me in.

I want my character to be Rostam. In the Shahnameh he killed his son Sohrab. So there has to be some tragic character arc worked in.

I'm interested as well. Need more SF gaming in my life, but wanted to give it a few days for others to join first, as I'm in a bunch.

No rush. People are just checking it out right now. We'll see in a few days if there is enough actual desire to try it.

I've glanced through this a bit, but from what I've seen it looks neat. Sign me up as interested if this ends up happening.

Loos like there will be enough interest in this for it to take off. Therefore, I consider the 5 of you my players unless you decide not to play of course.

I have set up the game on Obsidian Portal. If you're unfamiliar with OP, it is a good tool for keeping track of campaigns. It is currently bare bones but I will be adding to it daily, which is one of the best aspects of it. Each game has it's own wiki for all manner of information on the setting, rules, maps, etc. Anything that happens in the game ... NPCs you meet, planets, ships, etc. can have a wiki entry created for it and hyperlinks to those entries. We can have recaps of adventures. Basically a ton of information that you won't have to scour back through posts to find. If you choose to, you can create an account and I will add you to the campaign. Then you can write your own character journal entries and contribute to the site.

Please note that ALL of that above is totally optional and is no way mandatory for participation here. ALL gameplay will take place here. OP is simply a repository for campaign information. It helps me as a GM as much, if not more, than players. Even if you don't want to actively contribute you would still get a lot out of it by signing up and getting notifications when I upload new information. Still 100% optional.

Go have a look at any of the games there and get a feel for what I mean. Keep in mind I am learning how to make the campaign fancified so it will be pretty amateurish until I figure out how to pretty it up :)

Coriolis: Ghazali and beyond portal

Thanks for the interest and I will get busy getting things set up and running.

Actually, I have changed my mind. I should be able to do most everything I need here in the forums and it will keep you from having to jump back and forth. Let's just keep it as simple as possible.

Cool. Send a game invite when you are ready :)

Same, seen an invite whenever you're ready
Nov 6, 2018 12:15 am
Game invites were sent. If you're not getting them is there a chance I messed it up? I show you all as invited.
Nov 6, 2018 12:28 am
Game invites are delivered by email, which takes a random amount of time (up to a day) to happen for unknown reasons. But I saw the game in the new games section, and when I entered it, sure enough am invite was showing.
