The Unrivaled Playtesters of Loremaster Shem [ EDIT ]
This game has been retired! That means it's no longer being run.
EDIT: We're back! This game was closed for a long while, and this guy finally has his life in gear (enough) to come back and open this one up for play! We've got MANY more subclasses now than the ones listed here. Join in and go have a look!
Interested in helping to test out some new D&D 5e subclasses we're designing? Come on in, and sign up for some short, fast-paced playtesting using encounters from both published adventures and homebrew scenarios.
Be aware, this is NOT a campaign! We will be jumping around a lot with party composition, location, and character level. Between playtests there may be a few days or perhaps a week until the next one starts, as we focus on collecting and digesting feedback.
If we fill up player slots, we may end up adding more.
Some subclasses to look forward to are:
Barbarian: Path of the Dragonheart
Bard: College of Verisimilitude
Paladin: Oath of Heroism
Ranger: Bounty Hunter
Ranger: Predator
Rogue: Primeval Stalker
Rogue: Ruffian
Sorcerer: Rakshasa Bloodline
Sorcerer: Slaad Symbiote
Wizard: School of Transfusion
And more to come!
Help us out, and we'll be sure to include you in the "Thanks To" section of our upcoming product!

Details on the particular subclasses to come when you're accepted, but this is the general idea of what to expect:
We will be running tests at a variety of levels, so expect to tinker around a lot with your character(s)!
At the beginning we'll stick with PHB races only, but as we continue we'll likely move on to include others as well.
Point-buy for ability scores
Feats are okay for use, but for now multiclassing is not.
Either take the starting equipment, or roll for gold. Depending on the scenarios we playtest, there may be magic items available.
We may try a few different ways to run combat in this pbp format, but expect a lot of theatre of the mind. Mike Shea's "Guidelines for D&D 5e Narrative 'Theatre of the Mind' Combat" is an excellent idea of what to expect to be able to do with your character(s).
Roleplaying is awesome and pbp games are a great way to do that! But be aware that in this particular group there won't be much opportunity to incorporate carefully crafted backstories. That said, taking some time to describe *how* your character brings to life the mechanics we've been working on is always great to see!
