Needle and Thread: The Foundation [ EDIT ]

The multiverse, united one uncountable hour by one unfathomable force, continues to breed new worlds swimming in celestial seas of new universes. These worlds and universes need protectors. A faction, The Foundation, whose constituency dwells in a masked pocket dimension like a needle in an expanse of infinite haystacks, between space and time, works to recruit and supply these new worlds, called Foundlings, with protectors.
The characters are greenhorns, fresh trainees, cropped together by the Foundation and sent to bulwark a newly discovered Foundling Earth (an Earth quite similar to our own) born without the happenstance (yet) to produce hometown heroes.
The characters are immigrants from other worlds, other parallel Earths, other dimensions, but sworn to adopt their new world as their own and guard it with their lives.

To recapitulate: the characters are immigrants from other worlds, other parallel Earths, other dimensions, other timelines; though the majority (so far) of the Foundation is humanoid, this does not mean your character has to be humanoid. They can be ethereal, animal, or vastly other.
Players create characters from their own inspiration or can utilize a chaotic random ability/concept chart I have squirreled away. If you are interested in a more random approach or want to spin your own idea into an unknown direction, simply supply me with any number of numbers (but probably no more than 3 or 4 separate numbers) between 1 and 400,000.
To elucidate with an example, if you gave me the numbers 478, 20942, and 97, you results would be:
478 - Wealthy financier
20942 - Pyro-titan (artifact creation: flaming shield and lance)
97 - Altered human
From there you can remodel your results or drop them entirely :)
