Wildspace: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the spelljamming ship Enterprise. Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds. To seek out new life and new civilizations. To boldly go where no man has gone before!

This is a Star Trek / D&D mash-up, thanks to the release of the new Spelljammer supplement. You will play the bridge crew of the Enterprise, and the setting, while firmly based in the fantasy genre of D&D, will be oddly resonant of the Star Trek universe we are familiar with.

(Or if you need to rationalize it further just imagine its all a holodeck simulation, or even better, an alternate universe!)
