Vampire: Midnight in San Francisco [ EDIT ]
This game has been retired! That means it's no longer being run.
The Hook
It's a time of upheaval for Kindred all over the world. The Elders are leaving cities, in droves, heeding a supernatural call; Princes are leaving their domains leaderless, or in the hands over younger generations; outright hostility between sects is flares up in back alleys, deserted buildings and havens; and the Inquisition once again prowls the night--or worse, the day.
This is the world in which your coterie maneuvers.
Game and System
This is intended to be a full Chronicle, with posting at on a regular basis--posting at least every other day would be cool, but I'd be trying to respond daily. We'll be using V:tM v5. The game will be RP Heavy, and Mechanic Light--I'd like to lean into the narrative first and expedient suggestions the core book makes--such as "3 and out" suggestion. We'd focus on resolution via narrative and only roll when prompted to. That's the plan anyway.
Additionally, we'd spend a little time getting connections and buy-in for our coterie prior to RP posting. We don't have to use to full on character maps, but we'd at least decide on the type of coterie, ages, etc.
Full disclosure, I've never hosted a V:tM game before, and this would be my first time even touching v5. But I love the core book and am totally onboard with the changes that've been made.
Tone
It's a World of Darkness game so I'd like to lean into Rated R for Mature Audiences. We can talk about Lines and Veils in character creation chats, but I'd assume we'd at least be dealing with graphic violence, drug use, addiction, and cruelty to a degree.
Expectation would be heavy on Players driving the narrative. Kindred who set up and close their own scenes; who create locations and NPCs and their connections to them; and who play off each other would go a long way toward making the game as fulfilling as possible. My job would be to introduce unforeseen dangers, complications, and supporting cast. Of course, I also have meta ideas and hooks, but the it would be the player's Chronicle, and they'd lead it where interest is.
I picture the primary "action" of the Chronicle to be personal and interpersonal drama--conversations in bars and cafes where someone's reputation is at stake; arguing with your coterie regarding over the correct plan; attacking a Kindred's character at an Elysium gathering. There can (and will) still physical action, but I think it'd be cool to just sit in slow cooking dialogue and RP stew.

We will use Vampire: The Masquerade V5 core book--no supplements our updated content from older editions. We will chat about kindred concepts, and coterie construction pre-RP.
