Into the Crimson Lands [ EDIT ]
This game has been retired! That means it's no longer being run.
The mighty demon-summoning empire of the Dendrelyssi is no more and has been crumbling for close to 500 years now, having slowly been gnawed at the edges from rising empires far to the west. New nations are rising from the ruins of the decadent remains of the Dendrelyssi empire. Still, the Dendrelyssi are out there, and though they have been reduced to the status of minor nuisance, they still dream of conquest, torture, and slavery.
You are not heroes, you are in this for your own selfish needs. You will explore the wilderness and ruins, earn riches, and spend it on booze and wenches, a staple of the swords and sorcery or dark fantasy genre. IF you do end up toppling a greater evil, it will be happenstance... or at the very least, you'll be expecting a hefty pay for it...

The system is rather simple. When attempting an action you roll a certain number of six-sided dice (usually 1, but more for certain checks, especially at higher levels), and you attempt to roll a 5+ to score a success. When fighting against enemies, you roll your HD and attempt to equal or beat your opponent's Defence Class. The game does take some cues from D20/D&D 3.X while being its own system (though there is a D20 version available).
