Ten days till [ EDIT ]
This game has been retired! That means it's no longer being run.
Every few decades, when the moon is full on the night of Halloween, the fabric of reality thins, and doors may be opened between this world and the realm of the Great Old Ones. When these conditions are right, men and women with occult knowledge may gather at a specific ritual site to hold the doors closed, or to help fling them open. Should the Closers win, then the world will remain as it is until the next turning, but should the Openers succeed, then the Great Old Ones will come to Earth. The Openers have never yet won, until this day.
The game inspired by "The night in the lonesome October" by Roger Zelazny, but the events take place in a different time, with different participants. Knowledge of the original plot is not required to play this game.
So here it is. All preparations are done, the time has come, you have found the place where the doors could be opened. You prepared well, but it wasn't enough. The closers were strong, but they missed an important detail that turned their efforts around. This time the victory should have gone to the openers, the gates started to open. Nothing could stop their triumph. But the closers had the last ace up their sleeve. A dangerous artifact that no one would use unless the situation was desperate. An artifact capable of disrupting the flow of time and destroying the world - but in this situation it was the only thing that could save it.
At the last moment, before the gates opened, it was activated.
There are five of you here. In this town. Ten days back. Alive. The twisted time works according to weird laws here. The border between death and live is thinner than ever. Your own memory has not escaped damage. How many players was before? Has everyone moved back with you? You look at the others. You remember the side of one of them. But what about other players... what about you? Ridiculous. You can't remember the most important thing. You don't know what exactly you have to do. Are you opener or closer?
You have no more then ten days. Ten days to find out. To understand your goal. To find out who your enemies and who your allies are. And finish what you've started before it’s too late.
If you're the opener, you have to make sure all the closers are dead. Only this can guarantee success. If you are the closer, you must find all the openers. Remember - even dead they are dangerous. Only by knowing who they are you can stop them.
Events within the game affect the events of ten days (if everything does not end earlier). Every day a character can perform a certain set of actions and communicate unlimitedly with other characters.
