The Doom that Befell Miklagard [ EDIT ]
This game has been retired! That means it's no longer being run.
Though you came to the grand metropolis of Miklagard as mercenaries for a great army, chaos has broken out as the coffers were discovered empty! You must now escape the city before it eats you alive. Are you strong enough to survive the Doom that Befell Miklagard?!
πΊοΈ Race against time in a point crawl located in a metropolis, with total destruction harrying your every step.
π Test your strength and cunning against a city filled with secrets and ancient history, with danger lurking around every corner.
π‘οΈ Create an enthralling tale with your fellow adventurers as you run at breakneck speed snatching everything you can carry on your escape!
Prepare to embark on a quest the likes of which few have experienced! You have found yourselves in the midst of absolute chaos as a massive city burns from within, and laws have fled as survival becomes paramount. Be you a barbarian, a civilized man, or a being of decadence, it makes no difference in the city of ten thousand mercenaries all of whom are also trying to plunder and escape.
Using the Black Sword Hack ruleset, we will focus on player creativity over character builds. I encourage players to take a step back from their sheets and truly be engaged at the table! With this rules-lite system, we shall weave a story along the lines of Conan, Elric, or Corum!
In this adventure you will experience:
βοΈ A module inspired by real history as well as pulp escape movies of the 80s.
βοΈ A balance between role-play, combat, and exploration.
π¨ββοΈ Neutral referee who prefers intuitive rulings to strict rules.
π Living world with random encounters and vivid environments.
π Evocative combats with life-or-death stakes!
Come and join me on this once-in-a-lifetime adventure! Here's what other players have said about me:
ποΈ "What really stood out about him as a gamemaster was his ability and willingness to allow player character actions and decisions to matter."
ποΈ "Charles runs flavor rich games that are always full of surprises. He pivots fantastically between different tones, and he understands the rules of each system without handcuffing the game to them."
ποΈ "Charles is a FUN, patient, and supportive GM who invests time and effort into new players without letting the table become a classroom."

Character creation is as easy as ABC! Or, rather, SOB!
Stats
To determine your stats, simply roll 2d6 down the line! I will provide a chart against which you will compare your results, which brings your final stats within the 8-13 range, rather than 2-12.
Origin
You will choose to have a Barbarian, Civilized, or Decadent origin! These will affect your starting weapons (purely aesthetic) and to some extent your Background rolls. Each origin also comes with a random table of specific prompts, though this is optional.
Background
Each character will select two background options from their own origin list, and another from any list. Some options are restricted by origin.
And with that done, you roll for weapons and begin play!
