Longshot City: Super Scrubs
This game has been retired! That means it's no longer being run.

These are dark times for Longshot City.
Superpowered villains run amok while insidious masterminds pull strings from behind the scenes. The Sentinel Squadron, the world's greatest defenders, are dead. It's up to you and your friends to set things right before everything gets even worse!
Let's play Longshot City, a superhero RPG by Christian Kessler published in 2024 by Melsonian Arts Council! It uses Troika! as a base, subbing powers for skills and tweaking a few other rules for superheroic play. So it's got a beating British OSR heart that shares DNA with Advanced Fighting Fantasy, and some pretty great randomization if you're into that -- roll to see who you will play, an initiative system that provides a lot of variability in terms of who acts from round to round, and some really great tables to roll on if your PC gets whomped and KOed.
Comic book logic and physics are firmly at play here... of the four color, slightly goofy variety. Channel NextWave, old Thunderbolts comics, Marvel Adventures Avengers, that sort of thing. Tone will be light-hearted without being silly or farcical. Expect cool costumes and wise-cracks, high action, crushes, drama, and interplay between the PCs, NPCs and villains. I'd love to see normal lives complexified by superheroing antics, and hope that people won't shy away from the delicious tropes that make these kinds of comic book stories so good. You know, not being able to get your homework done, being worried about being recognized by the hot guy at work, feeling like you'll never measure up to your protégé, forgetting to load your utility belt, catching the baby that went flying when you walloped that robot, etc.
Players: Up to Four
Duration: Variable -- we'll start it as a one shot and see how we feel about the mechanics, the characters, etc.
Posting Rate: Mostly Once a Day, Yo!
Coarse Language: Oh Yes
Rating: Generally PG-13ish. Rarely R for out of the blue ridiculous gore. I mean I am me.
Mature or Problematic Content: Nothing too nasty, but we'll use Lines and Veils to ID content people want to put behind the curtain or remove from the script entirely.
A Note on the System: Be aware, this is not a crunchy supers system with complex power builds. It leans way harder to the narrative / flexible side of things, a la Masks, Fate, or say, Hit the Streets. As I mentioned above, you'll roll to see who you play, though you'll have a fair amount of leeway to customize once you determine the archetype and origin.
Do You Need to Own the Game: Nah, I'll share what's needed for chargen and such.
