Erran can recall that the statue of the man with the coin purse or pouch of sorts was a human. Half-elf at best. There were other, broken statues that Baric had identified, but they were in no state to determine their race.

"That doesn't sound like him," Seraph replies. "May I stay with you until he comes back for me?" He asks, though it is not clear if he is addressing any one of your individually, or the group as a whole.

"He was a Wyrden, right? An arcane caster? The name sounds familiar, but I'm not sure from where... He is quite powerful, I think... "

Erran (Now that the GM reread it) recalls that the bodies in the room with the statue were human.
OOC:
Sorry, Erran! :P

"I've heard the name too Flare, perhaps the most powerful Wyrden in recent history. Didn't he disappear from notice some time ago after ticking off the higher ups in the Verdonyyd Magocracy?"

Gimme that you dismembered hand. I've actually got a mouth to drink from a fancy cup lik—

He turns his head to hear the strange conversation going on between his party and... a sword?. Brushing off the grasping hands as though they were dust, he listens further to the conversation and moves in that direction.

Shaking his head at the cheery blade, he eyes the cup, Hello, cup? Do you speak too?

Rolls

History on the sword/elf, expertise - (1d20+3)

(6) + 3 = 9

History on the cup, expertise - (1d20+3)

(6) + 3 = 9

Despite Baric's urging, the hands do not stop reaching desperately for him - but to no avail. Unfortunately, the cup does not reply to Baric's questioning.

Devanis watches Baric's situation with some dismay. Despite the hands being somewhat comical these still used to be people and now they have been denied eternal rest by the upheaval that wrecked what was once a holy place. The ranger considers the talking sword. Could be useful, but could be trouble as well. The group mustn't be lulled into complacency by this respite.

"We'd better move on. Seraph, you can stay with us but you need to be very quiet. Can you do that?"
Dec 18, 2016 7:40 am
"Oh, of course!" He says, far too loud to offer much confidence. He then asks, "What are we doing here?"
Dec 18, 2016 11:20 am
"Exploring, mostly.. " Devanis says, being vague on purpose. "There are some evil and nasty things down here, and we might have to fight. Did you help Elnaril fight, Seraph? Will you help us?"

Pyrrah leans over and whispers to Devanis, still loud enough for Seraph to hear, though, "If worse comes to worse, do you think wrapping the sword up in something would be enough to muffle him?"
Dec 18, 2016 7:11 pm
"Where there's evil, there are people that need to be helped, right?" Seraph questions, his tone full of hope and his gem glowing somewhat more intensely. "Well, I try not to fight, because people get hurt," he explains, "Sometimes I have to, though, because it's helping someone good or in need."

His tone grows somewhat serious and quiet, as though he's whispering a secret that is not to be shared, "Sometimes Elnaril would tell me we were 'helping them with their life problem.' Friends don't lie, so I'd fight if he told me it was for a good reason." His voice is sincere and conveys a sense of naivety.

"Oh, don't cover me up, please!" He says, "I can't help if I'm covered up!"

Probably would have been too vocal about my drinking. He slips the cup into his bag and begins climbing back up the slope.

I agree, lets move on. I'm getting annoyed by these hands.

Rolls

Athletics to climb out. - (1d20+3)

(6) + 3 = 9

"I'll take Zubie's lack of conversation any day. Have fun writhe that Flare." Ameera moves across the rough sloping floor toward the flat area in front of the door across the room.

Rolls

Athletics to struggle across - (1d20-1)

(7) - 1 = 6

Acrobatics to save myself from a tumble - (1d20+2)

(14) + 2 = 16

As Baric begins to climb his way out, he's suddenly wrenched back as a dead man's hand managed to clutch around his ankle with an inhuman strength. Though a problem easily solved, it is made worse by the foreboding sound of cracking heard above the caved-in area, just above Baric's head. Small stones and dirt fall from the cracks of the ceiling on that side of the room.

Ameera, using the slope of the floor to angle her descent to the flat platform, manages to cross the room. Zubie continues to flap his wings, hovering beside her.

Devanis gives Pyrrah a shrug as if to say The sword's your problem now. He then crosses over to join Ameera.

Get off! Baric kicks at the creature and starts climbing back up, yet again, with more urgency seeing the falling dust from above.

A little help please. I see that we might be short on time right now.
OOC:
I have only rolled 9s on this page. Exactly 9 every single time. Think I'm having a statistically unlucky run of luck Or is it something else?

Ameera lifts and unfurls her hand in the direction of Baric and the undead hand harassing him and mutters Agradoth.

Rolls

Eldritch Blast attack, ignoring partial cover - (1d20+4)

(7) + 4 = 11

Damage with agonizing blast - (1d10+2)

OOC:
Hopefully just bad luck instead of some system issue! Maybe you'll get 10s on the next page :)
Ameera's blast of force causes the rotting, grasping hand to break apart in a messy display. Baric manages to crawl out a bit, closer to the flat platform on the north side of the room, but can't quite get there before several pieces of ceiling fall down around him.
OOC:
Baric, make a Dex Save, please.
