Hunter says nothing, and limps her way toward the nearest temple.
OOC:
If she didn't see a temple during her wanderings, she will ask a passerby or a guard (assuming one eventually shows up).

Seeing that Hunter is hurt Elfog walks up besides her, offering some help should she want it.

In Dwarfish he says, "Nice work on them demons. Something tells me endlessly hacking on them wouldn't have done the job."

Hunter's smile is weak from under the tangle of hair. "All demon to the Dark can be return," she says in her broken Dwarvish, "but only kill in the Dark to be dead."

She frowns and thinks a moment, then shakes her head and continues in Common, "Banishing a demon with blade still works. The glabrezu suffered mightily under your assault. It still lives and it will remember its defeat, but at least for now it cannot affect us.

"And I was mistaken earlier. Demons are a product of the Abyss, not the Hells. Though I suppose it doesn't make much of a difference when one is staring down at you."
Mar 22, 2017 1:02 am
"So now what? Is there anything that can be done to make sure it doesn't come back?"
Mar 22, 2017 1:32 am
"Still remembers, ya say?" Elfog asks, just a hint a fear in his voice. "Don't like the sound of that..."
Mar 22, 2017 1:42 am
"If what you say is true, and I have no doubt that it is, then we have made a very powerful enemy indeed."
Mar 22, 2017 1:51 am
"Yeah well.... So has he!!" Elfog blusters, trying to lift his own spirit as well as those around him.

Hunter thinks of the ways to permanently destroy a demon. It helps take her mind of the throbbing ache in her body.

Hunter knows from her reading that to truly kill a demon, you have to do it on its home plane.

It only takes a few minutes before you stumble across a temple of Helm. A couple of guards at the door look alarmed by your condition, immediately ushering you into the temple, "What in the Nine Hells happened to you?"
Mar 22, 2017 4:28 pm
"Abyss," corrects Hunter, the corner of her lips curling upward to allow herself a small measure of self-assurance. She can feel the bruising upon her back and wonders if she has a few broken ribs. She definitely does not look at her bloodied shoulder, wrongly imagining that her arm is hanging by mere shreds of flesh.

Instead, Hunter thinks about her ruined robes, and laments having left the medusa's wardrobe behind.
Mar 23, 2017 4:26 am
Hunter realizes she didn't answer the guard's question. "We were attacked by demons just outside the Vault of Sages," she states. "The fiends had wrapped us within a veil of powerful illusion to lower our guard, then sprung their trap. We were fortunate, nay lucky enough, to banish them back to the Abyss, but not without cost.

"Please? May we have some assistance?"
Almost instinctively, Hunter tilts her head to the side, even as her voice softens with the request.

The guards look at eachother and nod. One of them slips out the doors, sword drawn. You now hear a shuffling coming from down the hallway. Peering down, you notice that there is already a priest approaching; it seems that they had sent for help while you told your tale.

An elderly priest walks up to you and motions for the guard to lay you down. He sends the guards to take the less-injured away and an acolyte removes the majority of Hunter's clothing, leaving her in her smallclothes, so the priest can better see the wounds. He sighs, "Not as terrible as they looked, thankfully." he says and begins chanting a prayer to Helm.
OOC:
Hunter is healed for 25 points
Once the worst of the wounds are healed, the acolyte leaves, fetching some fine white robes for Hunter, "Here, take these," she says with a kind smile.
Mar 24, 2017 12:47 am
With her thanks, Hunter accepts the white robes and dresses. Still feeling the ache from the demon's fists, she is grateful that the bleeding wounds have been closed.

"How are my companions?" she asks of the acolyte.

Hunter
"They are quite well, being tended in another room," the acolyte says kindly, "When you are ready, we can take you to them, or we can take you to a room here to get a good night's rest."

Others
You are led into another room down the hall. The acolytes do their best to tend your wounds, and you feel much better after they tend to your wounds. They don't speak much aside from asking how you feel and offering to bring you anything you might require (food, drinks, blankets).

Mai'ngor submits to the ministrations without a word. He has a niggling thought: what if this is an illusion, too? What if it's all an illusion? What if I'm still in a cell in Velkynvelve, losing my mind? Or what if I never made it out of the mountains and I am even now lying in a ravine, dying from the sky-rock's poison?

Ever proud, Elfog waves off any assistance from the acolytes. While he waits for the others he'll play fetch with Beard.

OOC:
Will Hunter re-join the others or just head straight to bed?
Mar 27, 2017 4:56 pm
"Please, take me to them," Hunter asks. While she is thankful for the help, a part of her would feel more comfortable around those she is familiar with.

Hunter is escorted back to the others after the old priest wishes you a good night. You enter the room and the acolytes bow and exit the room to afford you some privacy.
Mar 28, 2017 6:42 pm
Hunter adjusts the fit of her new robes, idly wondering if Silverymoon will think she is a new acolyte. "How is everyone?" she asks, cleaning and fixing her hair.
