Elias steps through the door and beckons the others into the corridor.

Albrecht follows the others, sticking to the shadows as best as he can.

The doorway opens into a transverse corridor. Elias carefully peeks out, and sees that the corridor leads to both right and left.

To the right side, the corridor goes on for about 40', then turns right.

To the left side, the corridor goes straight for as far as Elias can see, then drowns in darkness.

The walls and floors of the corridor are made of roughly hewn stones. There are no windows or light sources.
OOC:
Post edited! Sorry, made a mistake in the original description, mixed up the corridors.

Sarrgul stares into the abyss.

The narrow corridor leading to the left just seems to be going on and on, its end once more fading into darkness outside Sarrgul's demonically enhanced field of vision.

But he does get a better understanding of what's there. There are closed wooden doors on the right hand wall of the left corridor. From the current vantage point, Sarrgul can see 4 in total. They are equally spaced, each about 20' from the other. The first one is 60' down the corridor from where you're standing.

Rummaging in his pack, Elias produces a torch and spends a few moments lighting it. "You'd best take the lead, Brother Sarrgul. I know your magical sight can see much farther than this paltry torchlight."
OOC:
Should one of us be mapping?

As you wish Brother Elias, there are four doors along the right hand of the passage they seem to be evenly spaced if we follow the passage to the left. It does continue beyond even my sight. Which way would you have me lead us Brothers?

"I would rather head left. Too many doors means we could find ourselves surrounded and overwhelmed. I could scout ahead if you want, stay in the shadows some distance from torchlight and check for traps or enemies."
OOC:
Rolling another Stealth check feels uncalled for. If anyone knows a half decent mapping tool we could use, let us know in the OOC subforum

Elias nods. "Albrecht is wise. Scout ahead, then. We will watch your back."

Staying within dim light of the torch, Albrecht slides down the corridor on the lookout for traps while trying to remain hidden.

Sarrgul moves into the hallway his mind focused on the spells available.

All these lefts and rights... Sorry if my descriptions are confusing! I will try to work on them.

LEFT HAND CORRIDOR: with 4 doors on its right wall.
RIGHT HAND CoRRIDOR: corridor goes on for about 40', then turns right.

I assume Albrecht wants to scout the right hand corridor, that has no doors, just the turn.

Albrecht silently slides down the corridor to the right. The walls and floors are made of the same roughly-worked stones, and nothing really stands out.

He reaches the spot where the corridor makes a turn to the right. Albrecht is now at the very edge of the torchlight. He carefully checks what's around the corner: the corridor goes on for 10', then terminates in a flight of steps leading downwards. It is too dark to make out anything else.

Albrecht returns and relays his findings to the group.
"Catacombs and dungeons below are probably more dangerous the deeper down we go. Will it be that or the doors back there?"
Dec 12, 2018 12:10 pm
"I imagine we would need to thoroughly comb every room of this place before we can call the job done. I say we clear this floor before we go above or below."

I agree with Brother Elias, we should finish one floor at a time.
Dec 12, 2018 4:09 pm
"Back to where we came, then. Pick a door and I'll check for traps or locks."
Dec 13, 2018 2:58 am
Let's start with the closest door Brother Albrecht.
Dec 13, 2018 7:39 am
As soon as a decision is made, Albrecht sneaks back into the shadows just out of bright torchlight and moves to the nearest of four doors, checking for traps and whether it is locked.

Albrecht sneaks over to the closest door. Without the torchlight, the Highwayman has to rely on tactile sensations and instinct.

It is a sturdy wooden door, reinforced with iron. It is kept closed by a horizontal metal bar. There is also a rusty lock, with the key in it.
Jan 3, 2019 9:25 am
Albrecht will wait for the rest of the group to catch up with him and will then try to gently turn the key, hoping it's not rusted to the point of breaking.
OOC:
How thick/heavy is the horizontal metal bar? Would it require something like a Strength check to lift it?
