OOC:
Just throwing it out there as a possible solution you might like. Lets say both magic users have a first level spell, work together to cast it,expend the necessary spell slot, and spend the necessary time to make it a ritual of some sort. You could then treat it as a single spell cast from a second level spell slot.

OOC:
Yeah. I don't think it's part of the rules (as written or intended for that matter), but I'm tempted to allow it because it makes so much sense.
OOC:
I totally approve, if that makes a difference :)

Sorry to derail the game with my suggestion.

As long as we can get that sucker on track, no harm's done.

"so what's the plan friends, rest and then attempt to cross?"
Jan 29, 2019 6:22 am
Mark asks, "How far accoss the room to the other side? As it may take several pits to insure safe passage if the fire can not be dispelled and that is a one way trip short a lot of time."

Looking through the door, Mark estimates to be about 20 foot by 20 foot.

Mark test to see if the fire will go down into a pit. He will cast pit in the middle on the edge of the room before him to see if he magical fire will go down into the pit as well. He can do this since he has a create pit memorized.
Jan 29, 2019 9:36 pm
So you cast it in the middle of the room trying to make a path along the edge?
Jan 29, 2019 11:40 pm
cast is it fairly much in front of my way into the room so I can see if it fills with fire or not.
Jan 30, 2019 12:13 am
Ah, okay, so squarely in front of the door.

Mark casts his spell, which creates a pit in the room. At first, things looks good, but the pit soon fills with fire, as if the room creates more fire to fill the extra space. However, it allows Mark to notice something before the fire fills the room. In the center of the room, there seems to be a round depression of about 1 feet in diameter and about 1 foot deep at the bottom of which is a copper disc inscribed with runes from which flames constantly erupts. This seems to be the source of the room's fire.

Mark asks, "Have any of you noticed that copper disc inscribed with ruins in the room? Might be good place for water or a dispel later. Seems the pit method will not work to pass the room."

"No, but to be fair, we were fighting several fire creatures at the time..."
Jan 30, 2019 1:12 am
"I see. Lets try something." Mark turns his attention back to the room. He says an arcane word and he produces an orb in his hand and tosses at the copper inscribed disc to see if it affects it. He will do this three times.

He just casted acid splash.
Jan 30, 2019 3:48 pm
Alright, make your ranged touch attacks and roll your acid damage.
Jan 30, 2019 3:48 pm
"Mark, by the grace of Sarenrae I am somewhat resistant to the flames. If your experiments are unsuccessful I can venture into the room and see if I can understand the markings on the plate."
Jan 30, 2019 5:16 pm
"I can also use my skills to move the object. A well placed shot will cause it to move along the floor and possible get a safe spot in the room."
OOC:
It's a gunslinger skill called scoot unattended object.

• Scoot Unattended Object: The gunslinger makes an attack roll against a Tiny or smaller unattended object within the first range increment of her firearm. A Tiny unattended object has an AC of 5, a Diminutive unattended object has an AC of 7, and a Fine unattended object has an AC of 11. On a hit, the gunslinger does not damage the object with the shot, but can move it up to 15 feet farther away from the shot's origin. On a miss, she damages the object normally.

Acid Splash. That is 17, 17, 10 for to hits. Damages are 2, 2, 2 acid.

Rolls

To hit +4 INT, +3 DEX (Three attacks if the first doesn't seem to work) - (1d20+7, 1d20+7, 1d20+7)

1d20+7 : (10) + 7 = 17

1d20+7 : (10) + 7 = 17

1d20+7 : (3) + 7 = 10

The damages d3 - (1d3, 1d3, 1d3)

1d3 : (2) = 2

1d3 : (2) = 2

1d3 : (2) = 2

Alright, Mark manages to hit the copper disc with his three acid splashes. The acid momentarily eats the copper, but seem to have failed having inflicted any significant damage. Though it has shown that the disc can indeed be damaged.
OOC:
On a different note, have we lost Khotanos? I'm seeing Zs next to his username. I'll send him an PM.

"One of you magic users, could this be an enchanted item that could be turned on and off via a key word, or some other such wizardry? It would be a powerful weapon to have if we could figure it out."
