While the debate goes on, Veroth attempts to keep an eye through the fire room on the opposite door.

As you are discussing whether or not this blade is the artifact you are looking for, Darren could swear that he heard somebody knock on the tower's door upstairs.
Dec 24, 2018 2:33 pm
Darren hushes everyone, "I heard a knock above..." he whispers, "Veroth, you're a quiet one. Could you check it out?"
Dec 24, 2018 3:16 pm
Veroth nods grimly and proceeds upstairs as silently as he can, jumping and gliding over the broken ground before sneaking up the stairs and listening at the door.

Mark, can you make a Perception check please? Also, what are you doing while you're waiting?

Heather will look around at the group, "Who would like to take charge of the sword? Even if it is not the one we are searching for it is a powerful weapon. I can take it if no one else would like to be in charge of it."
Jan 7, 2019 5:55 pm
"It is likely the reason I was sent here. Until we figure out what it is and how we can use it, I'd like to hold onto it."
Jan 7, 2019 6:04 pm
Heather hands the sword to Darren, secretly relieved to not have the responsibility.

GeneCortess says:
Mark bangs on the door louder. "Hey. Anyone home there?" He then tries to open the door.
As Veroth leans his ear against the door, it gets knocked on again, hurting Veroth's hearing enough that he's temporarily deafened and cannot make up the words of what Mark is saying, though he does hear someone speaking on the other side of the door. Veroth then feels the door opening...
Jan 13, 2019 7:31 pm
Knocking werewolves? Veroth holds his his hand to his ear and draws his rapier, backing away.
Jan 13, 2019 10:51 pm
As the door swings open, Mark notices what seems to be a winged drow, who's slightly disoriented, a hand to his ear and holding a rapier in the other as if expecting trouble.

As for Veroth, he sees that the person opening the door is a human male wearing a traveller's outfit with no obvious armor, or weapon except maybe a dagger sheathed on his hip and a pouch of spell components attached to his belt.
Jan 13, 2019 11:12 pm
"Friend or foe, did you need to bang the door so hard?" he rasps in a voice darkly inflected by an unnerving accent. "State your business."
Jan 13, 2019 11:44 pm
Mark smiles, "Seem there is someone here. Heck of a way to pay a traveler. Only hospitable place I seen around. That is assume that one there doesn't try to slice me with that there rapier." Mark holds his ground at the door way.
Jan 14, 2019 12:00 am
Veroth relaxes a bit, but does not give way. "Tis a fair way from anywhere hospitable. How came you to this place. Unmolested by the forces of Him?"
Jan 14, 2019 12:10 am
"Sorry you have me lost. I guess that I'm just too new in these parts. 'HIM', but either way may come out of the weather."
Jan 14, 2019 12:14 am
Veroth knows the stories, of those lost to the mists only to arrive in this hell dimension. Not that he believes this person is on the level. He steps back from the door. "There is shelter below, if you're committed to the light. I am Veroth."
Jan 14, 2019 12:21 am
"Mark. Well met." he looks about as he steps in. "Better than the weather. You all live here?"
