As you are discussing whether or not this blade is the artifact you are looking for, Darren could swear that he heard somebody knock on the tower's door upstairs.
Veroth nods grimly and proceeds upstairs as silently as he can, jumping and gliding over the broken ground before sneaking up the stairs and listening at the door.
Heather will look around at the group, "Who would like to take charge of the sword? Even if it is not the one we are searching for it is a powerful weapon. I can take it if no one else would like to be in charge of it."
Mark bangs on the door louder. "Hey. Anyone home there?" He then tries to open the door.
As Veroth leans his ear against the door, it gets knocked on again, hurting Veroth's hearing enough that he's temporarily deafened and cannot make up the words of what Mark is saying, though he does hear someone speaking on the other side of the door. Veroth then feels the door opening...
As the door swings open, Mark notices what seems to be a winged drow, who's slightly disoriented, a hand to his ear and holding a rapier in the other as if expecting trouble.
As for Veroth, he sees that the person opening the door is a human male wearing a traveller's outfit with no obvious armor, or weapon except maybe a dagger sheathed on his hip and a pouch of spell components attached to his belt.
Mark smiles, "Seem there is someone here. Heck of a way to pay a traveler. Only hospitable place I seen around. That is assume that one there doesn't try to slice me with that there rapier." Mark holds his ground at the door way.
Veroth knows the stories, of those lost to the mists only to arrive in this hell dimension. Not that he believes this person is on the level. He steps back from the door. "There is shelter below, if you're committed to the light. I am Veroth."
