Into the Barrier Peaks

The smoke rapidly fills the area surrounding you all, and you immediately become light-headed. Your vision blurs and you stumble a second before catching yourselves, hands and cloth covering your mouths. Fortunately, you manage to shake off the effects, but as the mist begins to clear, you see Hraefn slumped against the wall, out cold.

The golem arm begins to tighten around Caedwyn, but he is a bit too fast and strong, as he breaks free.
OOC:
5 HP bludgeoning to Caedwyn. Top of the round. Bram and Etna go. Everyone else must wait until after they and the golems go.

Edit 1: Phew... Right, bonus action to cast hunter's mark on the one grappling Caedwyn, then action to attack it twice.

goodnight folks, until DM says wakey wakey

OOC:
Ack! I totally blew that round. Ok, rewind. Bram and Etna attacked, then the robots went. Damage by Bram and Etna is as described, and the attack on Caedwyn yielded 5HP bludgeoning. Everyone except Hraefn made their saves, so the REST of you can go. So sorry it took me so long to realize that.

Merri, Caedwyn (who already went prior to vacay) and Ilwyn can take your actions. #Facepalm

OOC:
Would I get assassination at this point?
May 22, 2019 2:10 pm
OOC:
Are the bots unaware of Merri? Assassinate specifically requires them to be surprised.
May 22, 2019 2:11 pm
OOC:
Actually, it just requires them not to have had a turn in combat.
May 22, 2019 4:08 pm
OOC:
I believe that's First Strike. Assassinate guarantees criticals against surprised targets.
May 22, 2019 4:14 pm
OOC:
Assassinate
It does both.

Oooh, I forgot it was one feature. Whoops.

Coughing the odd gas from her lungs successfully, Ilwyn charges forward with her mouth covered, her sword trailing along the floor behind her with a metallic screech until she draws it up in a swing, aiming to sever the tendril gripping Caedwyn.
OOC:
Attack 1: 12 Slashing, 4 Frost
Attack 2: 14 Slashing, 3 Frost

... Or it would have been if she'd actually hit anything.

(3) + 7 = 10

I'm up after Merriweather, but this is the first round still right? So using the rolls I had queued up.
May 22, 2019 9:32 pm
Gasping and coughing as the gas fills the corridor and your lungs, you all manage to avoid the effects, save the druid Hraefn, who has slumped to the floor where he stood. Fighting through the haze, Merriweather manages to launch an arrow with deadly accuracy as it seems to pierce through the protective magical barrier and strikes the metal thing with a solid 'ting' that echos down the hallway.

Caedwyn, aided by the distraction of an onrushing Ilwyn, wildly struggles and strikes at the golem gripping him. His blade crashes again and again on the thing and the salvo gives him just enough room to slip from the bindings of the tentacles looking to envelop him.
OOC:
End of round 1. Totals: Golem 1 hit by Caedwyn, Merri and Etna for 10, 19 and 10 respectively. Golem #2 hit by Bram for 12. Hraefn is asleep, due to the sleep gas. Caedwyn has suffered 5 HP bludgeoning from the tentacles. Apologies for the slowness of this first round. Etna has gone, so I will be posting the golem turns momentarily.

OOC:
Wait, is this a new round?
May 22, 2019 9:49 pm
OOC:
Technically, yes, but I botched it originally when I told you to go. The others had not had their turn. This is round 2, and you have cast Hunter's mark on #1, and made your Oathbow attacks.
May 22, 2019 9:58 pm
Etna whispers arcane words as she launches a pair of arrows from her massive Oathbow. The golems are wary, however, and manage to avoid her attacks even as they lash out at Ilwyn and Caedwyn. The first slams both of its tentacles into the nobleman, all the while squawking and beeping "Resistance shall not be tolerated. Incarceration and interrogation imminent. Cease all aggression. Incarceration and interrogation imminent."

The front of the second golem lights up in a bright flash, as a thick, blue-white beam strikes Ilwyn fully. It feels as if a massive ram has slammed into her, and she manages to dig her heels into the grating on the floor and absorb the shock fully with her shoulder to avoid being thrown backward. She feels herself giving way, when suddenly the beam stops and the golem squawks at her as well.

Caedwyn hears it say "Continued aggression requires elevated force. Cease hostility. Intensive force required."
