Into the Barrier Peaks

As you all sit, and get a short rest, one of the golems comes in, moves all of the way down, turning left and right as it appears to be looking into each cell. When done, it turns to head back out. "Interrogation imminent. Commandant notified. Thank you for your cooperation." its metallic voice echos in the confined space.
OOC:
If you have not already, please apply a short rest. If you still have damage and wish to, please roll your HD for healing.

The hour long rest plus the 15 minutes since the fight should also give me 7d6 worth of healing from my Ring of Regeneration, so adding that in as well. Should bring me back to full.

Rolls

Resting Healing - (1d12+4)

(3) + 4 = 7

Ring of Regeneration - (7d6)

(5423214) = 21

OOC:
That ring kicks ass. Or. Un-kicks it, I guess?

Whoops, that should actually be +2. Added it anyway instead of rerolling, bring me to 60/62 if my tracking is right.

Hraefn's ears pricked up from his rest at the mention of the imminent arrival of the commandant. He was convinced that the golems did not attempt to communicate or fetch the commandant by any means he could discern. He considered scouting even further than he did, but thought to let things play out for now.
OOC:
Short rest: Wildshape uses recovered.

You all take your appropriate rests, gathering your strength, licking your wounds. Periodically, a golem moves through as if to check on your well being. Eventually, you find that you have rested for a full hour, with still no sign of the promised commandant.

Cædwyn sighs, "OK, we've been here for too long. There's no way it's really taking this long for this supposed 'commandant' to arrive. Everything here is dead, and if we don't find a way out of these cells we're going to starve to death... Hey what about that strange weapon we found? Do you think that could do something to these cells?"
Jun 14, 2019 12:28 am
"We've seen men reanimated as plants, and golems so far, but no real signs of life. I'm afraid I'm inclined to agree with Caedwyn.

The weapon we have ran out of power. We need one of those little discs to recharge it.

Bram or myself can try to open whatever locks these cells with our magic. Or I can try to acquire one of those door keys. I've seen the golems use a red rectangular key to open doors, inserted into the slot we've observed before.

Cædwyn says, "All right, you try your magic. I'm going to do this the old fashioned way." He's going to the back of his cell, then charge at the cell door, trying to force his way through the beams of light or whatever it is blocking the way. It's just light after all, can't be too hard to get though.

Since Caedwyn was about to try something foolhardy, Hraefn postponed his plan to escape the cell by himself, as that was unlikely to be immediately helpful for the others, short of taking on all the golems singlehandedly. While waiting on the others' opinions, Hraefn decided to test the effects of his simple magic on the door's own magic beams.
OOC:
Casting Produce Flame, and applying the flame to the door's light-emitting rivets. (Note Hraefn isn't hurling flameballs around in his cell! Merely concentrating the fire on specific parts of the door.)
Jun 16, 2019 10:18 pm
Bram watches Hraefn directly across the hall from him for a couple of minutes then asks, "How is that working? I might be able to do the same."
Jun 19, 2019 6:51 pm
Caedwyn
Straightening yourself up, you step back to the back of the cell, when the criss-crossing lights fade. As you run toward them, the beams reappear, and by the time you are at the opening they are nearly a solid wall of faded light. You run into the light-wall and are thrown backward, as if you had been struck by an invisible hammer. Your ears ring and you wind up flat on your back, but are none the worse for wear, as it does not appear to damage you.

Hraefn
You produce a flame, but the heat from it does not appear to harm the rivets.
OOC:
Perception checks from Hraefn and Bram, please.

"Ask them about the commandant again." The druid prompted Ilwyn. Then he paused his fire magic, and looked inward for a meditative moment, and considered other options. Perhaps there was another way to reach the controls from the inside.

"Bram, a hotter flame might work. My weaker spell does not affect it. I can try something more powerful. Also, the door's magic seems to be some form of lightning."

OOC:
Awaiting Bram's reply
Jun 25, 2019 2:39 am
"You want me to throw a lightning bolt at it? No telling where that may end up. It could bounce off every wall in this place."
Jun 25, 2019 3:48 am
"That would be hazardous to your health." Hraefn sought consensus again, "Continue to wait, or take action now?"
Jun 25, 2019 6:08 pm
Bram
With the Sculpt Spell feat you possess, it is reasonable to assume that you could channel the spell in such a way as to avoid it bouncing around your cell. Or, you could focus Shocking Grasp in a similar way, to target a specific spot.
