As Graxifa nd Romani move into the open room, it should be noted that right here by Hraefn is a black-paneled door, and two more are along the wall to the east. At at a branch some 50' east is another open door.
OOC:
Sorry if the map is not clear on black doors. Next update I will put a little white dot on black doors so they stand out from the wall.

Seeing the others enter the room, he puckers up his courage and opens the black door beside Hraefn. Without actually proceeding into the room, he peeks in to see what he can discover.

Kymael
Stepping up to the black door, you see that it has no handles. To the right of the door, however, you see one of the familiar panels, this one with a black background. There is a thin slot in the panel, perhaps a couple of inches wide.

Einar moves to stand beside the elf Kymael and scratches his head. He then rummages around in one of his belt pouches and pulls out a black pane of glass similar to the other colored key cards. "Hmm. The druid did something like this..." He makes as if to insert the black card into the slot, but hesitates and looks back at the druid. "Is this a good idea? Vatun knows what's behind this door. Maybe we should rest first then come back here." He withdraws the card, waiting until the druid answers.

"Yes, black card into black door slot. I also think the black doors open into rooms that aren't very important. Red and orange doors seem to be more serious, opening into the golems, the commandant's office, and the prison cells. And within those, there are gray doors that can't be opened. So gray could be most secure of all." Hraefn mulled over all the rooms they've entered thus far.

"If we don't need to rest, let's press on. But do open this black door, just to test my observations." The druid made a small smile.
OOC:
As mentioned earlier, Hraefn recommends exploring the square block of the map next. Note the map symmetry so far. (That's not meta-gaming, that's just good druid or ranger survival mapping skills!)

Einar nods and proceeds to insert the black key card into the black door that stand before them.....

Graxif and Romani
OOC:
The L-shaped room is in a severve state of disrepair, with what look to be furnishings and other lounge-like items strewn about, broken busted and otherwise unusable. Cobwebs, dust and filth are everywhere, including what look to be animal droppings of some sort. Mixed within the refuse, however, you find some sort of a strange, paper booklet. The paper has vivid colors on it, showing a strange scene of weird flora and fauna, huge waterfalls, and people wearing the oddest of clothing. Other than that, you find nothing of use.

Einar
The black card gets pulled from your fingers and into the slot as you insert it, and then drops into a catch below. With a silent whoosh of air, the door slides open to reveal a small apartment-like space. Similar to the open room nearby, this place is filled with broken and busted furnishings and strange wall hangings. One of the things looks to be a bed of some sort, another a couch and yet another a bookcase made of strange material.

Unlike the L-shaped room, however, in this space you find skeletal remains. The person looks humanoid, through smaller, perhaps even elf-like; though the skull is much different than an elf. The skeleton still wears clothing, which is of a shiny silver material the likes of which you have never encountered.

Einar retrieves the black keycard, enters the apartment-like room and begins to search, lingering for a little while when he comes across the skeleton.

Hraefn continued to confirm his theory so far that the key card colour matched the doors they opened. He noted the south wall doors along his corridor were all black doors, and looked across to see what colour the opposite one was.
OOC:
What colour is the door slot of the door diagonally northeast of where they are now?

Peeking into the two rooms, Lucky is a little overwhelmed by what he wants to grab and touch first. He settles on the strange booklet. Say, this is neat! Give me a couple minutes and I'll read it to you! He jumps up and heads to the other room. That silver clothing is pretty sharp! Lucky exclaims, going in for a feel. Oooh! Books! He begins inspecting the book case for anything interesting to read, even if he can't read it. This place is a mess. Finding a comfortable spot, the whirlwind of a Halfling casts Prestidigitation to clean off a good place to sit. He pulls a book out of his pack and begins reading a ritual from it.

After watching Lucky blow through the room like a halfling whirlwind, Romani will turn to Graxif and shrug."Quite the excitable fellow it seems."Seeing that Lucky has left with the only thing of interest from the room, Romani will exit the room and stand next to Hraefn. Waiting for him or someone else to open another door.

"Ah, so that was the trick," as Kymael watches Einar opens the door according to Hraefn's instructions. At the sight of the room, however, he scrounges up his nose. "I guess I wasn't missing much. Are all the rooms like this?" he asks to the group in general.

That was the initial, but with Einar being the barbarian, we discussed it (I hope?) and figured the new paladin would work better.

"Nothing here, but a corpse wearing cloth-metal. It won't fit me anyway...." Seeing nothing else in the room of interest, Einar decides to move to the next black door and open that.
