Hraefn waited for Einar to see the next room with the black door slot. "Looks like black doors open into accommodation rooms. Strange beds and clothing, a previous occupant, no important items of note."
OOC:
Bump: still checking on the door slot colour of the room diagonal to where they are standing

A quick check across the hall, Hraefn notes that the door panel has a distinct grey color.
OOC:

"On guard. I hear plant men approaching!" Hraefn heard the clicking shuffling sounds of a number of the mutant beasts headed their way. He stowed away his alien weapon, and took out one of the strange bomb-like objects they retrieved earlier. He had seen these used to good effect by the golems who lobbed it at them, and was prepared to experiment with them on the plant monsters. A soft muttered prayer on his part helped him recall and visualise its operation.
OOC:
Investigation on how to operate? Maybe with advantage because he's seen them used before? Edit: lol he's clueless on this one.

Romani will ready his glaive in response to Hraefn’s warning. He grips it tightly in anticipation."How rude, they’re interrupting our search once again." He’ll turn to Hraefn."Which way are they coming from?"
OOC:
I’ll go ahead and activate the helm if it wasn’t already activated.

"Sounds like south!" Hraefn looked at the others to see if anyone else had picked up on the sounds.
Sep 18, 2019 3:30 pm
"Yes it was from the south" says Grax, nocking a bolt to his crossbow.

Adding for the benefit of their newfound friends: "Fire is their weakness"

Hraefn nodded and looked at Bram, whose fireball took care of the last batch of plant men successfully.

Behind Hraefn, he suddenly hears Lucky's high voice. Say, that's neat? What is it? Don't you know how it works? Can I take a look? Barely waiting for a response, Lucky begins poking at the weapon, turning it over and over in his hands.

Lucky's head pops up at the mention of fire. Handing the bomb back to Hraefn, he says, Oh goody! I love fire! If they don't like fire, they'll love this! Lucky grabs the earflaps of his black cap and lifts it off his head. The cap reflects fire light, giving it a sheen like polished scales, as Lucky reveals the top of his head and the foot-high flame blazing from his hair! My whole head's a fire! he exclaims with a big grin.

Einar grips his mighty greataxe - Grimslash - tightly and braces for combat. "I don't hear anything! Plant men?? Let's put them to rest and find the cause of this affliction." Einar manages to glance over at Hraefn as he produces the fruit-like alien device, wondering what the wise spirit man had planned.

Being a man of the wild, Hraefn had less experience with these strange gadgets, whereas the halfling seemed to have an intuitive grasp of them. Hraefn handed him a few more of the bombs he found. "Perhaps you can put these to better use than I can."
OOC:
You might have to scroll back a bit to see a picture of the grenades. In game, the party knows at least one of them is a sleep grenade. And Hraefn picked up 10 of them at the commandant's office earlier.

Just as Hraefn and Graxif report the sounds, Kymael hears it too. "That clicking noise again. I did my best to give them a wide berth when I was on my own." His alarm is placated a bit by the talk of fire; especially seeing Lucky's hat aglow. "Ah, someone else who like to play with fire - I know we're going to be fast friends!"
OOC:
Kymael's a light cleric 🔥
The elf treads gracefully down the hall eastward and stops just shy of the where the hall starts south. Carefully he peeks around the corner to confirm the party's theory.
OOC:
DM: not sure if you want either, both, or neither of these checks
