"Sleep doesn't affect the golems. That's why they use it. Their first attacks are to disable. But these are plant men. They are formerly humans or humanoids that have been somehow transformed. That's our mission, find out how and put a stop to it."

"I’m kinda surprised that they haven’t come rushing at us considering all the noise we’re making. Perhaps they’ve got the same idea and are waiting for us to come running around the corner. A strange time for a standoff but that’s what it’s shaping up to be." Romani says while taking up a more neutral stance seeing as the danger is not as imminent as he once thought. He remains standing near Hraefn, waiting for the report from Kymael.

"I'll get things started then. No point standing around! Shaman, grant me blessings before I round the corner and start bashing these monsters." The large tribesman gets ready to confront the plant men with Grimslash gripped tightly in two hands, hoping Hraefn will bestow some form of divine protection on him before he goes in.

Do we get to fight now? Goody! Lucky tickles his owl under the chin and says, Doctor! Go take a look! The owl flies off to see what he can see. Lucky's eyes go blank as he peers through the eyes of his familiar.

Since you rolled well on them, I'm guessing the DM will rule how far you have them figured out. For the alien blaster Hraefn has, it was a combination of rolling correctly, and RPing in game how he experimented on them.

Kymael quickly and quietly makes his way back to his new companions. "The corridor is full of waste and discarded debris. There's about a dozen of the plant-man creatures, plus at least half a dozen wolf-sized thorny creatures. They were around fifty feet down the hallway when I checked, but they're heading this way. It seems like they're looking for something - picking through all the trash."

By depressing the button fully, you activate it, though it nearly went off in your hand. You got the trigger to reset, and so now know how that works, but seeing if you can delay its detonation will take some more work.
