As you all take stock of the coming horde of plant creatures, the area goes eerily quiet. The loud buzzing you have been hearing suddenly stops. You can hear the sound of rustling leaves and bark scraping on metal as the creatures advance.
OOC:
Initiative order is below. Use the previous map as a guide, but assume you all get a free turn of movement and getting actions ready. Since Einar goes first, I would like a stealth check from you as a party rep, versus the plant creatures perception.

Einar is up!
Initiative
Einar 19
Bram 14
Whoo 12
Vegepygmy 11
Kymael 10
Graxif 09
Lucky 06
Hraefn 05
Thorny 05
Romani 03

(4) + 1 = 5

Vegepygmy Perception - (1d20+4)

Can I get to them in a normal move this turn?

Einar rounds the corner with his greataxe at the ready and stands his ground while he tries to bait the veggie pigmies. "Come at me!!"
OOC:
Not sure exactly where I am on the grid, but this is the general idea of what Einar wants to do - readying an attack action. May not be able to do it this round. I'll use what ever movement required to get in the corridor. Once I bait the crowd in, feel free to fireball me AFTER I start raging.

Apologies. I am just leaving work and didn't have my normal time to get to my games today. I'll up the map in the AM and post an update.

Einar runs quickly to the corner, the rest of the group beginning to move as well. Rounding the bend, you are faced with a tiny horde of misshapen plant creatures and their mastiff-sized, slathering, dog-like mass of thorns. While most of the creatures are small, roughly between halfling and elf sized, a couple of the abominations at the back look to be made of stockier material. Seeing you, the creatures howl with maniacal hisses and begin rushing forward!
OOC:
I moved everyone to where I thought they would be, and to avoid having to post your individual movements, let us assume you all are where the map says and we are at the top of the round. No surprises by anyone. Sorry it took so long to update.

So again, Einar, Go!

Einar releases a feral battle cry and braces for the oncoming stampede of plant monsters, challenging them as they approach.
OOC:
Standing his ground and readying an attack for the first one that enters melee range. If it's possible I'd like to ready my bonus action to enter a rage before I attack as well. Not sure if I can do that. Just want to make sure the rage is not wasted if they can't reach me this round.

Delayed bonus action -> Rage -> Reckless attack with Great Weapon Mastery on the first target that gets within melee range.

If the first attack kills, of course, I'd like to redirect my next attack at a new target if possible.

1/4 rages remaining
HP: 89/101
AC: 16
Rage: Resistance to all damage except psychic damage
Enemies attack Einar with advantage on their turn because of Reckless attack

As Einar moves into position, Bram also heads a few feet east and pulls out a pouch of sulfur and bat guano. The arcane words form at his lips as he moves, becoming deeper and louder as the energy flows through him. With a cry, he releases the pent up magicks and a small ball of glowing ember streaks into the southern hallway. Just past Einar is balloons into a roaring ball of flame that encompasses everything around it.

Miraculously, both Einar and Kymael are spared the hellish fury as Bram's mastery of the arcane enables him to shield his friends from injury.

The roaring flame engulfs the entire south tunnel, incinerating anything that moved. The wave of heat rolls over the barbarian and wood elf, and though they were protected from harm, the intensity of light and heat made them shield their eyes. When it faded, the tunnel was nearly cleared of plant creatures, and only two of the mastiff-like thorny creatures came charging at Einar.

With a roar of blood lust, Einar's great axe swept once, twice, both blows carving the plant-canines in half. The others had already scattered to the south, disappearing into the myriad of twisting corridors.
OOC:
Even with a save, all of the vegepygmies were destroyed. The two larger ones disappeared in the smoke along with three of the thornies. That was quick! We are now out of combat.

Fireball saves the day again.
Einar emits a victory cry to the god of tundra and winter survival, daring any more opponents to challenge him (them) "VATUN!!!" As his rage subsides he turns to face Bram to pay respect. "You are indeed mighty, wizard. I still put more faith in my axe though..."

Now that's a fireball!
"I hope you have some more of those. I do not have my flame spells prepared today." Hraefn appreciated the efficacy of the fireball, but knew there ought to be many more of the plant men still in the complex somewhere.

"Well damn, that was rather impressive." Romani let out a sigh of relief and disappointment."Shall we go back to opening doors, or should we focus on hunting down the rest?" He asks nobody in particular as he stows his weapon and leans against the nearest wall.

Lucky sighs and returns his senses from his familiar as the Doctor settles back on his shoulder. Well that was easy. This hasn't been as exciting as I thought it would be. Let's open more doors!
Oct 2, 2019 11:11 am
"Shall we continue around this block? It still seems to me suggestive that we cannot find a way into the innermost room yet." Hraefn moved down the corridor, past the T-intersection where they last spotted the plant men, eastwards and then northwards.
