Into the Barrier Peaks

"I trust your healing ability will enable you to recover." Hraefn spoke in all seriousness. The food served here might have been nourishing ages ago, but was now evidently inedible.

So far they'd found living quarters, a dining hall, security headquarters, a prison block, the commandant's office, and supplies storage. None of which controlled the dungeon, nor were the cause of the outbreak. The rooms the plant-men came from were also ordinary. Perhaps they had yet to find some evil wizard's laboratory, with an experiment gone wrong, or some divine or infernal magic gone awry in some cloister. Hraefn made a mental note to look for such.

"Shall we move?"
OOC:
Assuming the others are ready, Hraefn intends to head down the western corridor, and open the room door to the south.

Ahh! Gross! Lucky runs out of the room. Out of sight, he calls back in, I think we should check the next room.

" I have never regretted something quiet so intensely as I am from eating that gruel." Romani says with shakey breaths. He brings a hand up to his face, crackling with divine energy."Let us move on then, I’d like to put this particular room behind me." With that he will turn and join Lucky and Hraefn on their way to the next room.
OOC:
Romani will expend 5 points of lay on hands to remove the poison effect.

Einar laughs aloud as Romani empties his guts. "I must admit....you've got GUTS! Hahaha!" The big brute convulses at his own terrible pun.
Oct 17, 2019 6:44 pm
Lucky peeks his head around the corner, giggling at Einar's joke. Until he sees the vomit and turns green. Oh god! he exclaims as he ducks back out. GROSS!

"Maybe less button pushing then..." thinks Grax out loud as he follows Hraefn out of the room "... although eating it certainly wasn't my recommendation. These contraptions are sophisticated, but evidently not clever enough to keep from making poisonous food.... probably not made by a gnome then."

Of all the places you have thus far investigated, this place is in fantastic condition. The room is roughly 30' by 70' and holds numerous tables, padded chairs and many strange looking boxes similar to the boxes in the golem headquarters. These boxes are different, however, as they have what look to be a pair of wheels on either side of the box, and some of them have a thin piece of material running between them. Along the underside of the various tables there stand several drawer cabinets.

The room itself, unlike the rest of the place is brightly lit by numerous glowing orbs lining the top of the walls right at the ceiling level. While the place looks void of anything alive, there are a couple of skeletons lying near the tables. While both of the skeletons wear remnants of clothing, one of them has the look of a military uniform, with braid and colorful attachments looking like small medals of some kind.

"Perhaps this skeleton might reveal more." Hraefn zoomed in on the one in the military uniform. Perhaps he was one of the commanders of this place.
OOC:
Edit: Strange roll, I don't know where that +1 came from, but it's crappy. If someone else wants to search Hraefn will add a Guidance roll to their check.

Rolls

Investigation (with Guidance) - (1d20+1, 1d4)

1d20+1 : (9) + 1 = 10

1d4 : (1) = 1

Seeing Hraefn bumble about in a half-hearted search of the rooom, Grax decides to conduct his own investigation.

Rolls

Investigation - (1d20+9)

(15) + 9 = 24

You find that the drawers by the tables are all locked, but there does not appear to be any sort of lock mechanism. The boxes, while strange, are uninteresting, though there are several buttons embedded in the tables themselves, right in front of the box. The strip of material running between the two wheels looks to be flexible. You can manually turn a wheel and wind up the thin material, and then turn the other wheel to wind it back up.
OOC:
Think old-school movie projector with the film running between the the two wheels
But, what is most interesting, is that among the bones and garment remnants of the skeleton is a grey-colored piece of leaded glass.

"Am glad you have much sharper eyes than I do. This door card is invaluable. There are doors inside the ship commandant's office that can only be opened by this gray glass card." Hraefn was convinced this got them one step closer to finding the solution to this entire business.

"Let's go back to the commandant's office then, see what's there"
Oct 22, 2019 5:19 pm
Oooh! "Commandant's office"! That sounds important! I bet we can find lots of neat stuff in there!

Exiting the strange room, you continue West to where the main corridor turns south. At the intersection you see a large set of uncolored doors across the way as well as a brown door to the north. Looking south, you can see the corridor leading to the metal golem prison. Beyond that you see the remnants of the destroyed golem; unfortunately, there are three of his companions moving about, apparently investigating the scene.

OOC:
Forgive me if I took liberties as to your actions. Also, I have someone who is coming in to take over the running of Bram. So I guess we are 6 after all. :)

OOC:
Have they seen us yet?
Oct 23, 2019 10:46 am
"Remember, they always open with a sleep bomb as they always want to detain us rather than kill us first. Alternatively, we can let them 'capture' us again, in order to get to the jail block, and then sneak out from there." Hraefn recounted the options. "They don't seem to understand our weapons or our magic, which is why they didn't disarm us in the first place."
OOC:
Don't mind if I keep summarising the options for everyone until everybody's caught up.

OOC:
It does not appear that the golems have seen you. Your actual positions are just at the corner, peering around and looking south.
Oct 23, 2019 6:27 pm
OOC:
The last update of the map doesn’t show any light radius around Bram, but if he still has his light spell going, he’ll drop it as soon as it appears there are metal golems down the hall.
We should avoid them, he whispered tensely. Can’t be sure these constructs won’t learn from their mistakes and cage us for good.

OOC:
I had dropped the light, as the current area is considered dim
