IC Guardians of Seattle

Dec 26, 2018 3:46 am
You've arrived at the outskirts of Seattle. The city lights shine brightly against the overcast night sky, making it brighter than a full moon. The moon is actually concealed tonight, but you can feel that it's just peeking over the horizon, crescent moon. The cool humid air clings to your skin with an infiltrating chill that starts to make the end of your nose go numb.

You're supposed to be meeting a kinfolk here who will take you to the apartment that's been set up for you, but he's now over 15 minutes late.
OOC:
Rolling for the moon phase:

1 New Moon
2 Crescent Moon
3 Half Moon
4 Gibbous Moon
5 Full Moon

Edit: I didn't pay attention to the previous chart I had. *eye roll* Re rolling with a new chart.

Rolls

Moon Phase - (1d8)

(6) = 6

Moon Re-roll - (1d5)

(2) = 2

Patience, brothers. This city is foreign to us, perhaps he has merely been delayed. The Weaver has many ways of slowing progress with simple annoyances.
OOC:
Can you approve my character when you get a chance?

Stony eyes the others as if trying to discern how he is being blamed for this. He towers at 6'10" and 375 pounds. He has long hair he keeps in braids, native style, and wears rough black jeans, a homespun shirt over a collared shirt, and construction boots. He considers words, struggles with that, and feeling the power of his moon auspice, eventually offers, "I know a Rite to ask the spirits for guidance to find him. What was his name again?"

Got it. Thanks for the reminder.

Depending on how we were told to meet, and how much info about the contact, I am fully in support of the Rite plan. Just need to double check that before I can words it.

Jake sitting from a relax position on a local bench, looks toward Stony.

" Bah, by the time you answer the riddles from these fickled spirits the guy could be here".

standing up you see him stretch his arms trying to increase his modest height of 5'11 next to Stony.

"Why not try a howl first to tell him to get his ass in gear?"

"Depending on what's in this town, it might not be best to alert every Wyrm tainted thing that we're here just yet. How long would the rite take you anyways? If that doesn't work, we might need to resort to howling for the kin. Either way, stay sharp; this delay could be innocent city traffic, or something worse. And with our luck, it's probably the 'worse'."

Knowing it's better to have backup plans and not to need them, Donnar isn't about to ignore anything just yet, but is reluctant to announce their presence to the enemy just yet.

The kinfolk's name is Michael Kane. He does a horrible British accent, but is a good guide. You were told he's very dependable and would probably already be here when you all arrived. You were given the address to your apartment here, but he was supposed to take you there and give you some pointers about different places in the city while en route.

Does he have a phone number or any other means of contact?

" Well he knows where were supposed to be."

Going back to the bench you see Jake pull a hikers backpack from underneath it.

" I say we just head there, see if maybe we can see him on the way. If there's noth'in we make a couple calls."

Stony shrugs at Jake's proposal. "If he is not there, we can call upon the spirits. There is no sense bothering them if we can find him ourselves." He looks about. "Come, let us solve this Weaver maze and find the address." He begins walking down the street, counting building numbers, and looking for a familiar Street name.

Taking a quick looks at the rest of the group, Jake follows Stony.

Well looks like he's not waiting, maybe we can get some food on the way!"

All right! Let's have a roll. I think this is mostly likely a Perception + Investigation roll. Difficulty is 6, just need a single success. It'll take about an hour to get there. Additional successes can make it take less time.

Despite being unfamiliar with the city, it doesn't take you long to find your apartment. It turns out to be a small, one bedroom affair and shows signs of bug infestation. It's ugly, but it's cheap and provides shelter from the outside elements.

The apartment is on the third floor of the building and the door was ajar when you arrived. It is empty, however, and there's no signs of vandalism or attempted theft.

Distracted by looking about, Stony's command of English becomes more piecemeal. "Empty. Makes sense. Friend isn't here. Wait or search?"
