Lol, it was a very big giant, and I was a very small halfling.

I think my half orc character should be able to toss you right back :P

Ok, everyone, here is the link to the DnD Beyond campaign. Create (transfer?) your characters to here, and you will have access to all of the content I own when building your character.

FYI, the Find Greater Steed has been added to your sheet. You still have an outstanding Expertise slot and unfilled spells. FYI, the Magical Secrets spell list was alphabetical by SOURCE... so your spell was waaaaaaaay down the list.

For your characters, please add all of your details. Background is nice, but what I really want is all of your stats like height, weight, appearance, etc. There are times when this might come into play, so please take the time to fill that section out. The same goes for flaws, bonds, etc. I would like that since it can help encourage role play.

One other note. Beyond will call you encumbered, even though it is logical that your mount is carrying your gear. For our purposes, everyone gets a riding horse. You can go to the 'Creatures' section of Equipment and add a mount. Everything YOU are carrying must go on your inventory. Stuff you will NOT be carrying should go on your sheet in the OTHER or NOTES sections. Make sure that you equip all armor, weapons and magic items (atunement as well if required).

This will all help with regards to encumbrance.

I am not sure I am going to let you keep your mount. :8

Nah, I guess it will be fine... with the inevitable TPK, what will it matter? :D

Are we presuming we know each other at the start of this 10th level adventure, or that we're just meeting for the first time?

Also, I have a ring that can be used to pass around Arnold Poodle's find greater steed spell (Ring of Spell Storing shenanigans), so hypothetically we can all have one of those should we want it. Do you wanna say we can do that before the game starts, or do you want that to happen in game @everyone?

I'm fine with that, though it'll take a few days since I've got a limited number of 4th level spell slots.

I'm not sure if Ket is referring to my barely surviving another game here recently thanks to having a [randomly assigned by that DM] Nightmare for a mount, and using judicious amounts of ethereal travel and flying as well as lucky rolls to kill a Death Tyrant pretty much solo after two other characters were killed and the third charmed.

I'll happily take a superior mount if possible, PAE.

I think he's referring to the Nightmare on AElfric's sheet. Speaking of, how did you add that to your character sheet? I need to add mine from Find Greater Steed.

@ArnoldPoodle. Yea. It'd take 2 days for all 6 of us to get one, presuming you're a straight up 10th level bard. Y'all have to take 1 hour to attune to the ring between casting too, so that's 6 hours of that total as well. 3 hours on 2 seperate days. Kinda why I want to say we've done it previously if OurGloriusDM™ is amenable to it.

If so, we can all have Pegasuses (Pegasi?) or griffons! Or one of these if you'̶r̶e̶ ̶w̶r̶o̶n̶g̶ want to choose one of these for RP reasons: a peryton, a dire wolf, a rhinoceros, or a saber-toothed tiger!

@ArnoldPoodle, there should be a creatures tab on your character sheet. Select mount and then just add the creature.

Ask not why there's 6 devils on my character sheet. It's better that way.

Found it, thanks!

Griffon and Pegasus are great for backrow casters like us, but for the front liners like Korgazhar I'd suggest the Rhino. Because what's more awe-inspiring than an Orc charging at you on top of a Rhinoceros?
Jan 3, 2019 5:50 am
I suppose it depends on if you want your mount for combat, or for utility & mobility. I'm a big fan of the latter, even if I'm a frontline fighter. I'd probably still take the Pegasus normally, but I fully agree that an Orc charging at you on top of a Rhinoceros is an absolutely awe-inspiring experience that I would NOT envy being on the receiving end of! XD

To be abundantly clear, my strike-through thing is a joke. Not gonna pass judgment on people's choices here... Unless they ask me to play a nudist pixie barbarian riding a war corgi... Which has happened... Recently... And I'm not sure if it was a joke or not.

Didn't even notice that was still there. :P I used the old character with the Nightmare's sheet to build the new character. I'll correct that now.

A flying mount would be excellent for a spell-slinging rogue who wants to get into certain hard to reach places.

I'm seeing Ælfric as an excellent thief who usually uses his skills to retrieve stolen items for their rightful owners. He's been known to work on the wrong side of the law but hasn't been caught yet, plus his good deeds for high ranking people usually make authorities ignore his extralegal endeavours. Perhaps he's been caught or failed to get an item for one of those powerful people, leading to him being on this quest.
