Ok, more banners. Hehsh is genuinely confused about why we're going around waving these silly scraps of cloth around. "What exactly is the point of these, things?"
Sep 15, 2019 7:19 pm
Banners let you know where your people are, they give you a point to rally around if needed, and for some people it is a visual representation of what you are fighting for.

"Huh. So in the middle of the fight these things are just waving about all willy-nilly? Doesn't that get in the way? Also doesn't it also tell the enemy where you are?" Hehsh is not convinced by this concept.

"I'm no tactical genius, but how exactly would you know who's an ally without anything to identify them with?" Ruby counter's Hehsh's skepticism.
Sep 15, 2019 10:07 pm
"Are you worried that we're going to be confused about who is a hobgoblin?"
Sep 16, 2019 4:07 am
Granted, they are of more use when you are fighting someone who looks like you. But they still can come in handy.

"It could serve as a rally point also!" Hasan defends the flag. "But i agree it could also be a beacon for the enemy. Mayhaps it would be wise to not have it up for this combat?"

Night falls and into the darkness the plans begin. Most of the army denizens march out into the desert. Soon, all that remain are you and a half dozen hippogriffs. And MystWynd, you're RO, or relay officer. The pixies form a communication network to organize the disparate forces in their mad nighttime sojourn to face battle hardened hobgoblins.

The time comes.

The baby dragon Zoboanth leaps down, gliding from a tall tree. "Come, heroes, we need to go. Friend hippogriffs will carry you to battle, and I will lead you in the assault. Let us free mighty Pananthys and our stories will echo through the ages."

Garth carefully mounts one of the hippogriffs.

Thank you for allowing me to ride.

"We've got a plan. Lets not loose ourself out there." Hasan says as he heads over to the mount.

CaveJohnson says:
"Well I guess theres not good night rest tonight." Hasan says as he heads over to the mount.
You just completed a long rest, lazy man.

"Oh this is going to be quite something. Everyone remember to be careful." Ruby is having trouble containing her excitement at the big event, and with such prestigious mounts to boot.

OOC:
Where? i see we get back to the place, night falls, we start the march? was the nights rest on the journey back to the camp?

With part excitement and part trepidation, you mount the eager, hot blooded hippogriffs. A simple leather strap around their chest and neck is there for you to hanh onto, but otherwise, you're probably feeling like you're in trouble. Before you can vocalize an objection, the beasts leap powerfully into the air with their legs and a powerful flap of their wings, and circle up and over the cliff.

Out over the desert air, you see little except the camp fires of the Vermilion Reavers. Very quickly, you are gliding high above them, just the four of you, the baby dragon you're supposed to be protecting, and a demonstrably untrustworthy pixie.

You glide around for a few minutes before the signal. A huge fire erupts on the edge of camp and the shapes of the desert folk can be seen charging the perimeter. The hobgoblins professionally meet the threat, grabbing their gear and marching in orderly waves. Soon the battle is joined. The animal and centaur calvary slam into the side of the ranks, lead by the unicorn Albionii.

MystWynd and Zoboanth keen their mini battle cries and the hippogriffs fold their wings into a step dive for the middle of camp, following the tiny dragon. Flames erupt and you see a huge brass dragon chained to the ground, guards fighting a few shadowy figures by light of the sudden flames The hippogriffs land in the middle and you hop off.
This will be a ragged melee, theatre of the mind style. You can cast whatever buffing spells you want, just say that with your initiative post. I'll post later today with a more detailed description for the area.

Speaking of which, Initiative please.

As Garth prepares to ride into battle, he says a prayer and blessed his armour.
OOC:
Blessing of the forge. His armour is effectively magical and +1

Hehsh really enjoys flying and laughs delightedly as he soars through the air.
OOC:
I had another post but I don't see it posted. Oh well. Casting mage armor.
