Knobby walks down the hall and peeks around the corner. The hall extends a ways down with a door on the east, west, and north walls.

The grubby gnome tip-toes to the closest door and listens, careful not to step in front of the threshold and cast any shadow. Standing at the frame, he leans over to press his ear.

Knobby repeats this at the other door, gauging what might lie beyond and how that affects his options.

For completeness (something he didn't do previously, and now his friends are gone), he checks the door in the far corner.

Knobby moves over to each of the doors. He hears nothing at the west and northwest doors, but he hears the movement of a couple of creatures in the room to the east. He also occasionally hears grunting words in the orcish language inside.

Knobbenkirk glances over the western door for alarms or traps, then tests the handle to see if it is locked. Should either prove affirmative, Knobby attempts to disarm and pick his way through.

Knobby opens the door to the west and finds it is a long hall filled with stone sarcophagi.

Knobbenkirk takes a long hard look at the ground, trying to determine if orcs or his companions were taken through this area.
OOC:
So as not to take too much time with a back-and-forth, here are some conditionals.
If it appears as though there was foot traffic in this apparent crypt, Knobby will venture further in. He looks for traps and any telltale signs of whether the sarcophagi were disturbed, and see if his companions were put in them. He also checks to see if there are other exits or secret doors along the walls or in the floor.

If it does not appear that anyone's been in this area, Knobby moves to the northwest door and tries to gain access.

Knobby doesn't see any signs of foot traffic in the west chamber, so he moves to the northwestern door and finds a staircase leading up.

Knobbenkirk prepares a list of I Told Yous in his head. He sneaks up the spiral staircase to recon the upper floor.

At each door he finds, Knobby goes through his mental checklist of investigating for traps and locks, listening for activity beyond, and trying to be as surreptitious as possible. His goal is to find his headstrong companions, and maybe if the opportunity presents itself, Pinna. Towards that end he looks for signs of interrogation or incarceration.

As Knobby goes up the stairs, he finds that there are quite a few more orcs up here. He searches a bit before he finds his companions (and Pinna) locked in a small bedchamber in the northeastern corner of the castle. He manages to open the door while the others are sleeping.

Knobbenkirk hisses quietly, "Come on, while the going's good!" He gestures emphatically for the route backtracking to the secret tunnel.

OOC:
I'm assuming we're still unconscious at the moment
Jul 10, 2019 7:55 pm
Knobby shakes his companions and Pinna to consciousness.

Pinna smiles when she sees Knobby, "I thought I was dead when they carried me off!"
Jul 10, 2019 7:59 pm
Knobbenkirk shrugs. "Well, it's still early in the day."
Jul 11, 2019 10:06 am
Brunhilde grunts as she sits up "If you know a way out Knobbenkirk then lets be about it. We can always come back here later and deal with the greenskins"
OOC:
Have we been stripped of our gear or do we still have anything?
Jul 11, 2019 5:06 pm
Rava gets up, groggy, unused to being properly unconscious. He looks about, also looking for their gear.

OOC:
You have no gear, just your clothing
Jul 24, 2019 6:12 pm
"The way out is the way we came in," says Knobbenkirk. "Hopefully you'll all be a bit more quiet this time without all that metal weighing you down, yeah?" The gnome holds the door open for everyone to exit.
Jul 24, 2019 10:29 pm
Once everyone is on their feet, you head toward the exit to these rooms and find a group of over a dozen orcs blocking your way, "Where do you think you are going?" a large female with a massive serrated greataxe in hand asks with a smile.
Jul 24, 2019 10:32 pm
Knobbenkirk hides a yelp and answers, "Uh... back to town? Oh wait, was that rhetorical?"
Jul 31, 2019 2:57 am
The female chuckles, "A smart one, aren't you?" she says, "But it's okay. I think we can help each other..."
