Hola!

For thsoe who frequent your PC on DnD Beyond, I wanted to ask if you have any issue with me modifying your character name. I am going to pre-pend the name with a ATG_. I am doing this because, if you have not yet seen, I am using the campaign for two different games. Yours and my new Ghosts of Saltmarsh game.

It is just to keep the characters identified by game.

No issues here. Go for it!

I'm sharing an account, and use the (A) prefix to differentiate my characters from the other people currently sharing. I'm fine with the change, but would ask if you could put it after the (A) in my case

Sorry for the dry spell. A busy work-week followed by the long weekend here in the states... let's move this story along today, shall we? :)

Roget that.

Hi guys,

A few points regarding this, my first, combat encounter in this game. Now most of you probably already know, but Light Domain clerics have a noteworthy damage output as they can cast most of the heavy hitting fire damage spells and while I'd hope to hold back my spells for healing, I try not to be the kind of caster that hoards spells and dies with unused spell slots. While I'm here to enjoy myself I also have to acknowledge this is a team effort so do feel free to tell me if you feel I should just fry stuff and get the job done quicker. Damage mitigation through superior fire power is also a thing. However I do recognize that this place we're in is probably highly flammable, and friendly fire is also a concern so I will be sure to exercise caution with spells like Fire Ball, Flame Strike and Wall of fire (not like I could cast them right now even if I wanted to, as I don't have my holy symbol). I am, however, quite ready to pop off a few Scorching Rays at the keeper if we live to see him. Thoughts?

Current foes are no doubt grossly outnumbered and hopefully that will show soon.

Scorching Ray away! Just save a few slots for healing... just in case.

Currently no one is doing the 'party-leader-calls-out-the-attacks' thingy, which is part of the RPing. So each character assesses their best action and goes for it. In your case I figure the usual big spells for boss fights, or if things look like they're getting tough, otherwise regular attacks for minions.

I say use all the big, heavy, high level slots right away. Leave no stone unturned, as they say!! 😁😁😏

DM hint or clever ploy to whittle down our resources? Or both?

I'm of the opinion that healing in 5e is pretty weak, unless it's being used to pick people up from 0 via something like Healing Word. Generally, it's better to do damage than heal if we're evaluating things in a vacuum. I guess what I'm saying is, you do you. I look forward to having someone in the party that can cast fireball, because I sure can't.

Ok yes you're right. I was worried about breaking the spell, not sure if we were gonna try and sneak past or what, but nothing had been discussed so I assumed this was going to be a fight to the death
No worries. It's 100% an in character decision. The rest of the party has seen this happen before, and knows it's a setup so we can eliminate enemies one at a time. I guess we'll just have to start with the keeper. XD

Ok cool yeah. I like the focus fire plan.
