FYI, with Dorian coming through I may be slow to post this week. Though it looks like we will avoid the brunt of it, we typically lose power during these storms.

Because the action has been non-stop, there hasn't been a chance for the party to talk about their options. Were we assuming we'd teleport out at the next available opportunity? I imagined something different: letting loose the orcs to create massive chaos, and then retreating to where the orc safe caverns are to use guerrilla tactics. (Since all we've done at the basement is essentially release two prisoners, so I thought we are still at prisoner-release mode).

That's what I was thinking, too, Bedz, but contact with the enemy has rendered that plan moot. I agree with Gene: once this next combat is over, we reassess, and get out if necessary. We can't murder this entire steading. Can we? :P

Welllllll, the building seems pretty flammable. If we do teleport out, might chuck a fireball or leave a wall of fire before I leave....idk....feeling cute.

Doubt we have the firepower to murder all in one shot. And we don't want burn the place and have them scatter. Main goal was to take out the leaders.

I don't remember them being that ready for us though. We managed to sneak into the lower level undetected, but it was the time spent freeing the two prisoners which drew the attention of the Keeper. We didn't kill the first wave fast enough, so the escapee went up to warn them, hence this second wave. (The fire giants and bugbears were denizens of this level, not from above.)

I taking the ready for us from our earlier hit on the one lady. And the symbol left was rather nasty.

I think security was probably increased after our ward activation debacle, and they were also 'ready' in the sense that we're infiltrating a giant base full of giants and their servants who are pretty much ready to take on anyone.

Ok all, things have really slowed to a crawl. Lives (work, school and other things) have bogged us down, and I don't see it getting better in the foreseeable future. I am going to stop the game here. While I may take it back up down the road, right now I have too many things to juggle (as do others) without trying to push this game along. My hope was to keep it at a relatively even pace, but like I said, things just seem to have come to a crawl.... and I really don't want this to be a game of one turn every 1-2 weeks, and the only driver being non-stop combat.

Much apologies to those that wish to continue, but for now I am locking the game threads and stopping the game.

Understood. I'm not assuming blame for things coming to a crawl, but I'm sorry for the role I've played in it. Hopefully we can pick this up sometime in the future if interest returns.

I was hoping we could at least free the orc prisoners. Give us all the chance to go out in a potential blaze of glory?

I kinda understand what you mean Ket. I think Against the Giants does play out like a major slugfest, so it's harder to sustain combat momentum when interruptions occur (the dreaded 'who's turn is it to roll, and which attacker etc'). We've been fighting these guys for months! Not that that's a bad thing, but it does mean every other post is an attack roll.

Thanks a mil, we dungeon-crawled pretty far on this one!
