Wynn grimaces, unsure of their safety but still seeing it as his best bet at getting an audience with those in power. The best he can do is offer El a shrug before his thoughts are cut off by the sudden emergence of light.
A smile creeps onto his face. Thank the spirits, he thinks. There is still some magic here.

They've been against us from the start.

Stunned at Venture's display Balara turns her head towards the wall, covering her mouth in an effort to keep the escaping giggles from reaching Elisabeth's ears. She looks back at Elisabeth when she is certain the feeling has passed. "Please, sit." She says quietly, scooting over to offer a space.

aaand I've just rolled a natural one on another game I'm playing on here. The dice gods are out to get me.

OOC:
@Group with the guards:
"If you continue to harass an ongoing investigation, you will certainly have your day in court because I will take you in for obstructing me. If you wish to accompany us, you may. Perhaps the magistrate will want your input regarding these new phenomena. The same can be said of you bright boy." the captain said with a brief smirk and a nod towards Hallion.

Obviously, it was going to take more than a light show to impress the man. By this stage, the boats had been unmoored and the guards were now guiding Wynn and Elendin towards the boats.

OOC:
She is sitting across from you. Also, a question for both of you, are you both actively trying to hide your non-human appearance?
Aldrusian says:
Whistler sent a note to Whistler
You made your way forward to the sturdiest looking warehouse, which also seemed to be the closest to the canal in this part of the city. You were not surprised to find that the warehouse was not locked and made your way inside. In the building, it was far too dark to make out anything but heavy shadows but after a moment of concentration a ball of yellow light rose from your hand and you found yourself in a large room, walking past what appeared to be row after row of cots. The cots were by no means luxurious but each of them was covered in a thick blanket made of some kind of hemp material and had a pillow at the head of cot.

Venture is hood up and hoping no one asks them to take off their helmet, but that’s their only layer of defence. only

"Thank you Captain, I will certainly accompany you. If I may, you seem suspicious of magic, but not at all surprised that it exists. I think most people in your situation would be amazed - have you come into contact with it before?"

OOC:
Balara has her hood drawn, she doesn't have access to much else. A shame my CHA mod is less then suitable...

Rolls

Master of disguise (deception) - (1D20-1)

@Genisisect and Somebox:
"Before we get into all of that though, can I ask, what the devil are you?" she asked. You got the sense that the question was mostly directed towards Ventrue.
OOC:
Can you both go ahead and make a perception check or if one of you would like to do it and the other would like to support, one of you can roll with advantage.

OOC:
Venture will aid Lara with the perception
I am a surveyor, built by a long dead civilization. I woke up after an unknowable number of eons in the last place that I was mapping out.

Balara tenses up at this exchange, her hand frozen around the cup she was pulling. It takes considerable willpower not to flee, instead putting her trust in Venture.

OOC:
Everything seems fine.
Elisabeth looked at Ventrue long and hard, before she drank what remained in her tankard in one long chug. When she finished, she wiped her mouth on the back of her arm.

"Run that by me again?" she asked her shrewd eyes assessing you both.

Well you know how you build simple machines that crush grain when provided with rotational energy, I was built to map and chart territory using ambient energy in the air. I was disabled a while ago, not sure how and have only just restarted. You could consider me a person built from metal and stone.
Feb 25, 2019 5:31 am
She starts to regret this decision, placing her head against the table to hide her expression.
Feb 25, 2019 6:09 am
Don't feel bad, this person is clearly of sharp wit and saw me for what I am, there is no point hiding it.
