Chapter 2: Smoke on the Water

We donae go back on a promise

"The First Mate is right." Zale growls at Magda. "A promise was made, and I, for one, intend to honor it." The genasi communicates the same to the ancient dragon turtle. "We seek your counsel how best to destroy it, and how to defeat the merrows should we encounter them again."

"Oh, good grief!" Alcyestris huffs. "Alright, I'll help you. No, do not toss that horrid thing at me!"

"There's a great forge in the depths where the king of the tritons fashions powerful weapons with which to arm his knights. You take that trident to King Kholnos, along with this token, and tell him you promised me you'd destroy them both. Sail northwest of here until you come to the Great Gyre. Sail into it, and you'll enter the tritons' domain."

"Mark my words, I WILL know if you break your promise!" Alcyestris warns. "I'll find you, and you will regret it. Now, shoo!"

The great dragon turtle then begins fussing over her daughter and pays you no more mind. Chelonax waves a flipper at you before the two disappear underneath the waves.

"The Great Gyre?!" Magda balks, "That place is tendays from here, and spells death, as any mariner knows! The good news is, my village is on the way. So if you lads are really eager to die, drop me off first, if you'd be so kind!"

Aye. this the plan

WOah! The island sunk into the sea! What did you guys do with that trident!! That must be some powerful weapon.

Nela comes back fully to the deck, This all sounds adventure Looking over the sea, Gives us some time to rest as well.

"Maybe you should hold onto this then." Zale says, handing Ian the trident. "And I took this off the spellcaster." he adds, whipping out the purple tentacle whip. "I don't know what it does, but I'm not much good with whips. Not a big fan of sushi either."

Nae my thing. But aye, I'll hold the trident looks uneasily at the whip as he takes the Trident

Seeing the emergency and what have you is over, Nela will return to her room.

During the trip, Jack hides away in his rack, spending some time with his shi y new blade trying to figure out the shifting pattern it seems to use.

After the first mate takes the trident, Zale gives the tentacle rod to the good doctor. Relieved to be unburdened of those two items, Zale sits staring at the strange token, turning it in his hands and occasionally taking a drink from his flask.
