Not long. If you want to be safe you'll need to wait a bit longer

Cool, that's what I thought. Thanks!

I'll wait to see what Kendall will do next and then you should be able to send your team in

Okay, I feel a need to get clarity on the communication situation. We've all been maintaining radio silence to avoid tipping off the pirates, because we assume they could detect ship-to-ship transmissions. What I've forgotten is whether we established this as true or if we players (okay, me) just assumed it was true and proceeded to devise elaborate here-have-a-datapad and hit-me-with-your-static communication processes.

But now, we have a Potential strike team on board the pirate ship and, presumably, in control or will be very soon. I would expect that we'd continue to not do ship-to-ship in case one of the ships' cohorts is hiding somewhere out of sight, but can the strike team safely communicate with Potential via their comm badges? I ask because I can think of a lot of instances in TNG where away teams communicated with the Enterprise and with each other by comm badge without being detected by the bad guys, but this is a good time to establish what's "canon" for our campaign.

That's a good question that I didn't really think about. I think it makes sense to say that ship to ship communication would be detectable by another ship if there's one in the vicinity but the comm badges should be safe. You've been using them with everyone on the Potential so it should be no different to use them now that you're on two different ships.

Excellent. Thanks!

Hey, by that same token... shouldn't we be able to communicate with Captain Tulak on the Antarctica?
Mar 8, 2019 5:38 pm
Hm, that's a good point. Maybe that wasn't possible because of this thing y'all did to make it look like most of the crew there was dead or injured. Maybe communications would have disrupted that. I don't know. I didn't think of that xD
Or maybe there's no reason and you can just communicate but didn't because there wasn't much time

LOL, there are so many angles and moving parts, it's hard to think of everything. We're building the plane while we're flying it.

We should probably stick with the idea that we can't communicate with the Antarctica for some reason. Otherwise, Tulak and Cass would certainly have conferred when Kendall showed up to answer the distress call. Maybe someone else in our group can come up with a good reason for being unable to speak with Antarctica.

The idea that active communication would make it easier to tell the life signs were vital is actually what I was thinking. Morbid as the comparison is, it's kinda like a lockdown drill at a school, right? Don't talk. It's safer.

So, just something i noticed- Our game has almost 1000 collective posts between the various threads. Thats AMAZING!
Mar 8, 2019 11:04 pm
Wow! That really is something. It's a testament both to Spinach's device of an interesting and fun campaign and to the players really "clicking" and building on each other's characterizations.

What are the doors like in our rooms? If I were to yell, would Lorq and the guards be able to hear me?
Mar 9, 2019 6:11 am
Yes, I would say both Lorq and the guards would be able to hear.

I am so freaking paranoid now.

There's been some Star Trek episodes that had horror elements to them, so that's acceptable, I'd say
Mar 9, 2019 3:39 pm
What is the capacity of the Potential's brig?
Mar 9, 2019 3:41 pm
I would say there's enough room for ten people to fit in there comfortably, after that it would get cramped

Has anyone considered that perhaps this infection is the children, and the vital signs are messed up because they are alive?
Mar 9, 2019 4:29 pm
Yeah, I've been considering things like that. I wonder why some of the pirates are wearing vac suits all the time. But Cass doesn't know about that, unfortunately.
