Hey RPM, glad to see you again! Youve seen my best attempt at a dwarf, now prepare for wannabe mordin solus!
Makes me want to go back and play ME again. Not that I ever really need an excuse, I guess.

CosmicKeyRing just answered my PM. Said he got caught up in his work and couldn't keep up, but that he's going to try to jump back in. So we'll have a pretty full complement of players.

Hey, we can split the party more often?

Feel better, Kona!
Feb 27, 2019 12:45 pm
At the moment we're split anyway, so that's pretty easy. We'll see. There might be a reason to split again

Feeling a bit better this morn, so hopefully on the road to recovery. 78RPM is in my other game on here, so awesome!

I'm like the proverbial bad penny...

Glad to hear you're feeling better, Kona!

So, sorry for being, you know... stupid, but I'm fuzzy on the booby trap plan for the contingency of the Potential getting boarded, and I figured it was better to resume the discussion here rather than keep cluttering the RP thread with my confusion.

The plan is to have the transporter "fire doors" rewired to seal and deliver the knockout gas in the event that an enemy boarding party arrives - is that correct? And then there's something else going on with the replicators delivering the gas if someone calls the doctor? Do I have that right... ish?
Feb 27, 2019 7:44 pm
They're separate concepts. If anyone transports onto the ship before the mission is over, the fire doors will slam shut. I assume a space ship would have a way of isolating regions in case of a breach.

If for some reason that's not good enough, the replicators can be triggered. It's a backup plan. I figured it would be artistic to have the code word be calling the doctor, instead of asking for the replicator to make knockout juice. Prevents the pirates from getting a reaction moment.

If the backup plan is triggered, it'd be isolated to the room with the replicator, which is nice, and if all hell broke loose, then Moira was going to tell the replicator code for making the antidote to the folks on the Antarctica.

It made way more sense in my head. And then I tried to type in an accent. But does that help?
Feb 27, 2019 8:09 pm
Yes, it helps, thanks! I think that between Marbo's sentence fragment-speak and Moira's phonetic brogue, I've had trouble keeping track of the substance of discussions of this plan, lol.

Sorry haha
Feb 27, 2019 8:49 pm
Oh my gods could yall imagine if Moonbeam had just assumed she knew what we were talking about, but due to the accents of our characters the plan failed horrifically?

The mental image of Marbo speaking in fast paced fragments, and Moira chattering on with the thick accent she carries, and then both of them stop and look at cass for approval, and in an attempt to still maintain commandership of the situation, she just goes "Yes, do that."

And as a result the mission goes well, but like a week later the ship starts flooding itself with knockout gas and replicating grenades that continue to go off.

The next campaign starts off "Your vessel has been tasked with rescuing the USS potential, for some reason the ship keeps producing knockout gas, and the crew is unresponsive."

ROFLMAO! I'm dying here.

I hate to admit how terrifyingly close to true this interpretation is.

Oh wow, that would be amazing and hilarious and outstanding.

Right up to the part where Cass was forced to resign her commission, LOL!

Darcy would like that. If she wasn't lying unconscious on the floor, surrounded by exploding gas grenades

With any luck, she'd be one of those people who had an extreme reaction to the gas and... didn't survive.
