OOC:
I'm not planning on narrating the quartermaster encounter. If you want to gab some extra supplies, just write it in during the down time. I just wanted to give everyone the opportunity to stock up.
As the party heads down the hallway heading towards the garage, the familiar sound of ratcheting tools and voices echoing in the large space can be heard before rounding the corner into the entry way.

The hallway terminates in an archway that opens up to a large open room with a very high ceiling. The cavity was carved and blasted out of the rocky interior of the icy moon on which the base occupies.

Astromech droids and mechanics can be seen scattered throughout the scenery. The edges of the garage have many workstations with large tool boxes and large equipment recently used, placed out of the way. To the right about 800 feet away, you can see the blue energy shielding covering the main entrance, keeping the bitter weather outside.

Near the main entrance a row of 6 Y-Wings are lined up side by side, noses pointing in the same direction, toward the center of the room. Hoses attached, boxes and crates nearby, but no personnel attending to them.

Directly across the hanger from the Y wings, 2 X-wings sit next to several open spaceship parking spaces. It looks as though there were 8 X-Wings parked here, and 6 of them are out of the hanger, judging by the open parking areas.

The crates and hoses are all pulled back from the empty spots, indicating they left this morning, and haven't yet returned. The 2 remaining X-wings both have maintenance crews patiently tending to them. Sparks fall from the tools of a repairman under one the X-wings, and he lays under the ship welding on the hull. The cracking and sputtering of the welding echos in garage.

Towards your left, near the rear of the garage you see a YT-2400 freighter surrounded by large crates and a handful of technicians.

To the untrained eye, it looks completely normal from a distance, but as the party walks across the concrete floor of the hanger to get a better look the damage to the freighter is immediately apparent.

Large deep black blaster marks score the aft of the ship near the top of the engine output. The ship looks to have been chased down and fired on by some very large weaponry. It's surprising that the damage didn't pierce through the hull.

Working around the freighter are several small pit droids. They are opening the crates and taking parts and pieces out, assembling them into larger components and laying them out in some order that seems obvious to them and the mechanics.

A floating Toydarian peers through the glasses perched on the edge of his nose as he observes the pit droids working, making notes on his datapad and stroking his dirty white beard.

Out of the interior of the ship the party sees a large Besalisk and small blue Squibb walking down the ramp towards the Toydarian both grinning with a guilty childish smile.
Mar 26, 2019 6:16 pm
It's not ready yet. The Toydarian says addressing the party, still looking at his notes.

You're welcome to stow your gear inside if you'd like, but you won't be going anywhere soon without an engine He looks over the top of his glasses at the party with a large smile.

He lowers his datapad and flutters over to the party. My name's Quenerexanol. But most folks just call me 'Rex'

We're having a bit of trouble getting the engine sorted out. Dreks and Ketta are helping out quite a bit but we could use a few extra hands He gestures back toward the Besalisk and Squib both that now join in the conversation.

The Besalisk wipes his four hands with a rag, cleaning them off prior to possible handshake. The squib notices this all too late and decides that his small furry hands are best wiped off on his overalls, which are also covered in grease and oil.
Mar 26, 2019 6:19 pm
Hi! The small blue squibb chips in.
Mar 26, 2019 6:54 pm
Deks Let’s out a quiet "Hey boss" as he passes Rex and tucks the rag away with a left arm as both of the right arms each extend towards two of the party coming in. He is wearing a set of cargo pants that were once blue (presumably) with a tool or knick-knack sticking out of every pocket, a greased up wife-beater shirt and over it all a warm looking greatcoat.

"Deks Rall, uhm, pleasure to meet you all."

One of his left arms rubs over the back of the Besalisks head. The other left arm, now rag-less, indicates the Squib beside him.

"Me and Ketta here have been trying to fix the thing up but lots of work. She’ll be pretty soon though. Any of you reckon you can pilot it?"

"Introduction: Greetings. I am designation T1-N33, Gunnery specialist and weapons enthusiast of the crew of captain Che Mora Amorantha," Tiny gestures towards the Pantoran he is accompanying, "He is more than capable of flying this...thing."

Tiny seems lost for words. He cant quite call it a ship. Theres no guns, no big proton torpedo bays, not even a Flak launching Mass driver. Tiny debates briefly about just sitting atop the ship with his rifle to stop any imperial vessels, then determines it to be a bad idea.

OOC:
I'm going go with the assumption that Mo recognizes the ship type based on his two ranks of piloting space. Also, for clarification, a YT-2400 typically has a ventral mounted gun, is that present on this ship (so Tiny has something to occupy himself and not fall into a state of depression)?
Mo's eyes are fixed on the ship, bounced around to pick out details of the craft, and it's obvious to anyone watching that he's eager to get on board and slide into his seat. Absently he shakes hands with the Besalisk as he restrains himself from heading inside. At the mention of piloting the craft he focuses his attention on the conversation at hand and says, "You better believe I can fly her. And, for the record Tiny, this isn't a 'thing', this is one of Corellian Engineering Corp's finest crafts, a YT-2400. Once our big friend here gets her fixed up, I'm eager to put her through her paces. How much of that damage is superficial and how much more time do you need to get her operational?"
Mar 27, 2019 6:40 am
"How much time, hmm? None of the damage is superficial. Engine needs some parts replaced, the resonance wave synchronizer took a hit, inter-coolers on the sub-light terminal bi-phasic adjusters are messed up. Shield circuits burned out, and we have bend bulk-heads to boot."

Deks lets a silence fall for a moment.

"Rest of the damage is superficial though."

He gives an awkard laugh.

"In short we need all the help we can get, and as much time as possible. But seeing as you brought your gear time doesn’t seem a commodity we have?"

The Besalisk poses it as a question to know what to prioritize on the ship and already starts summing up what repairs can be done on board.
Mar 27, 2019 7:55 am
"So I'm just going to assume that those are real words and not just you messing with us. I can fly anything with engines, but I wouldn't know a spanner from a flux capacitor. As for the rush, well, there are some time concerns, sure, but we want to make sure she's in flying shape before we leave. If you need some manual labor, maybe Tiny can pitch in and I'm willing to help hold things or hand you tools... Let us stow our gear, and I know that Doc wanted to check in with the quartermaster too." Mo says with a confounded look on his face as Deks spouts off with some sufficiently technical sounding mumbo-jumbo to convince him that it might take a while before any actual flying happens.
OOC:
I'm not sure how long a "galactic cycle" is supposed to be, I think someone asked about that earlier too. Do we have any sort of sense of the urgency of this mission? Does Mo think we have a day or two to finish some repairs or does he think that we should get the ship spaceworthy, then make repairs on route as best we can?
Mar 27, 2019 3:19 pm
"Addendum: Make sure the guns work!" Tiny chimes in, following where Mo left off. He is staring towards the ventral weapons port, trying to see if he can determine what kind of weapons system is on the ship
Mar 27, 2019 6:28 pm
OOC:
A galactic cycle means to me the time it takes our sun to revolve once around Sagittarius A Star, the galactic black hole. That is estimated to be 225,000 earth years. There are several more esoteric meanings but they have little to do with the passage of normal time.
"Is the ship stocked yet with anything? Like the galley or the medical bay? I'll go stow my gear in one of the passenger cabins, check the med bay and then make my way to the quartermaster."
Mar 27, 2019 8:39 pm
OOC:
That was my thinking of it as well, Aldrusian. I'm wondering if Kirk meant it to be a year, though.
"Sounds good. I'll stow mine and maybe help Deks if he needs some unskilled labor. The sooner I'm flying again, the happier I'll be..." Mo said, with a nod to the Besalisk before heading in and "accidentally" putting his gear into the captain's cabin.

Maldan grumbles as he scratches his head. "I have nearly no mechanical experience to speak of, but if I can be of service in any way, I will do my best to accommodate you." He moves inside and begins unloading his gear.

OOC:
in reference to time. You'llwant to get going as soon as possible. You have about 8 days to finish the mission.
And travel will take some time as well.

Also, Awesome synopsis by Dreks. Loved it.

Can I make an Astrogation check using the on-board astrogation computer for an assist to see how long it'll take us to get to Agribba?

Tiny walks aboard the ship, poking his head around and taking in the cramped spaces. After wandering from cabin to cabin, examining the available space and finally settling on a room...or rather, tool closet. A small, fairly cramped space hidden behind a panel near the ventral gun access, tiny fits quite snuggly inside.

Once he has wedged himself into the small space, he lets out a mechanical sigh and says "Exclamation: Its good to be home!"

After putting his duffelbag and various personal effects in the closet, he closes it up tight and begins to explore the ship, starting with the ventral gun. He will inspect it and fiddle with the controls a bit to familiarize himself with it

Assuming Armitage finds no medical equipment or material on board he will head over to the quartermaster to requisition a couple of full medpaks. On his way out of the ship he looks back at it and asks any of the mechanics nearby why there is no dorsal gun.

A couple of the mechanics look at the ship, and look at the doctor curiously. They look back to the ship, whisper among themselves and ask.

what?

The dorsal turret angled up and back, as if frozen in its position during combat is quite prominently displayed a top the freighter.

I think a computers,or core worlds check would be better since you're not actually setting the jump right now. [Easy] plus 3 setback die because the engines are inoperable and shore power is disconnected.
