Dragomir looks at Babushka’s offerings with slight surprise. He then chuckles and waves a finger in the air in front of her.
"Haha, I should have known Baba Diya would have little tricks up her sleeve." The Cossack grabs the stones and larder items.
"This will do nicely. Many thanks."
Dragomir places the items onto the picture, and then pulls his coin from his pocket. He kisses it and puts it on the table. The Cossack touches the tips of his fingers together, forming his hands into a box. He gazes through this window and at the drawing, trying to perceive the house. Dragomir reminds himself over and over that
distance is only an illusion.
