OOC:
Would either Spunky Kinetic Conduit or Adrenaline Junky be appropriate?
Mar 29, 2019 3:25 pm
OOC:
Not the GM obviously, but I'd think that adrenaline junky would apply to you trying to impale yourself, yeah XD
Mar 29, 2019 3:29 pm
OOC:
Alright. Well, foolsmask, feel free to disregard this roll if Adrenaline Junky does not apply to trying to impale myself.

Rolls

Athletics+4

1 Positive, 2 Blank, 1 Negative - Total: +0

Mar 29, 2019 5:20 pm
Feeling his stick being wrenched away, Slapshot tightens his grip and pulls back.
OOC:
I think Adrenaline Junky is perfect in this case. Re-roll approcved.

Rolls

Athletics +4

0 Positive, 1 Blank, 3 Negative - Total: -3

Echo spins away from Slapshot, ripping his hockey stick out of his hands. The leverage the young hero used seems like enough to knock him off balance and he slides around on his energy skates. He has to flail about to keep his balance.

A cry of shock and disgust comes from the gathered crowd as they take in the aftermath of the exchange. The blade of the hockey stick has cut deep into Echo's shoulder causing what looks like a grievous wound, but it has also cut open and burned away part of her costume, revealing quite a bit more skin than the young heroine might want exposed. Several cellphones appear and start flashing as the onlookers try to grab a shot that Echo knows will spread quickly over the internet in a few moments. It will take a ghoulish appetite to get their jollies off these photos, but those people exist.

The camera drones that were following her all retreat to a safe distance behind her. The quick thinking camera operators back at the studios trying to keep the FCC off their backs. Echo realizes she is going to catch and earful for this later.
OOC:
SO that worked out well! Echo succeeded with Style...so you get to use two free invokes of the Disarmed aspect on Slapshot. Essentially this means you get to add +2 twice in this scene. They can be used on one roll or divided up as you choose.

El Toro Caliente, feel free to take an action when you like. Blitzer is still dealing with the truck trying to escape, Fastball is on top of the truck dealing with Vitrius, and Slapshot is now disarmed of any visible weapons, although a kick form his skates might hurt.
Mar 29, 2019 6:22 pm
Seeing as how Blitzer seems to be unoccupied, I'll do a backflip off of the truck and land directly behind him, positioning myself so that I'm directly in line between him and an electrical box of some sort, hoping there's maybe a high power transformer of some sort in the near vicinity. Basically trying to create an advantage where if he charges me, the thing behind me will ruin his day. I'll then yell, "Hey man. You know people hate it when you hold up traffic like this right?"

Rolls

Create an Advantage (Notice I guess?) (+2)

2 Positive, 1 Blank, 1 Negative - Total: +1

Mar 30, 2019 7:04 am
OOC:
@El Toro, there might be a better way of going about this. Another use of Fate Points is the ability to just create things in the scene. Specifically when they only maybe will become useful in a future action. If you are willing to spend one, then yes there is one of those big green utility control boxes on the street corner. Then we can change your action to a Provoke Attack vs. Blitzer's Will and proceed from there.
Mar 30, 2019 3:37 pm
That sounds good to me, my provoke is +3, so slightly better outcome with that.
Mar 30, 2019 4:12 pm
Blitzer turns his helmeted head toward El Toro Caliente. His deep but somewhat tinny voice roars over the sounds of the armored car engine. "Oh go sit on your own pointy hat, worthless pretty boy! I'm working here!"
OOC:
Perhaps not the sharpest retort, but a bit insulting, wouldn't you say El Toro? Anyway...

So that is a 0 to your 3 Toro. He will take a consequence...we'll keep it simple and call it Provoked by El Toro. So you've waved the proverbial red flag at him. I'll be posting their actions next.

Rolls

Will to Defend the Provoke (+1)

1 Positive, 1 Blank, 2 Negative - Total: -1

Now that the heroes are on the scene and have engaged the villains, the crowd really starts clamoring. A lot of them are focused on the fact Echo is baring a lot more skin than they believe appropriate, or the fact she has a laser powered hockey stick buried in her shoulder. The second largest group cheers the arrival of El Toro Caliente, the most subscribed hero in the city, but they also seem to mostly be on the front end of the armored truck, so perhaps they haven't seen Echo yet. A few have turned their eyes on Vitrius and cry out for him to do more than throw something at the bad guys.

Fastball seems preoccupied removing the glass from his hover board to do much else. He spins about haphazardly as he tries to extract the glass without doing more damage.

Slapshot, disarmed of his primary weapon decides to try and fix that issue. He lunges forward trying to grab the stick back.

Blitzer turns back to staring down the driver of the truck, but a panel on his shoulder opens up and small grenade lobs toward El Toro.

Rolls

Fastball attempts to Overcome Vitrius's Distraction (Crafts +5)

3 Positive, 1 Blank, 0 Negative - Total: +3

Slapshot tries to get his stick back (Athletics +4)

2 Positive, 1 Blank, 1 Negative - Total: +1

Blitzer takes a pot shot at El Toro (Shoot +3)

2 Positive, 2 Blank, 0 Negative - Total: +2

Mar 30, 2019 4:45 pm
OOC:
OK...so Fastball is still struggling with the glass in his hover board. He won't be attacking for at least another round it seems.

Slapshot is continuing to tussle with Echo, but she has a lot of advantages over him. Echo should roll her Athletics as an active opposition. If you win he stays Disarmed, if he wins he will get his stick back, but either way Echo still get to take advantage of the Disarmed condition on Slapshot as it takes him a second to adjust his grip to attack again. So what I'm saying Echo, is that you could use the Disarmed invokes to keep him disarmed, or attack him while he is distracted, or both.

El Toro, you need to defend against that +5 grenade coming at you.

PCs are free to act once they have responded to the appropriate roll above.
Mar 30, 2019 5:10 pm
Ignoring the pain from the laser weapon burning in her shoulder, Echo tumbles backward, trying to keep the hockey stick out of Slapshot's reach, and likely being subjected to more photos. At the height of her somersault, she kicks up her foot, aiming for his chin.
OOC:
I am going to add Echo's +2 for Super agility to her game of keep-away, and add +2 for disarmed to the attack.
OOC:
EDIT: Can I add the other +2 to her attack after I rolled?

Rolls

Athletics +6

2 Positive, 1 Blank, 1 Negative - Total: +1

Fight +9

1 Positive, 0 Blank, 3 Negative - Total: -2

Mar 30, 2019 5:49 pm
Slapshot follows Echo as she rolls away, looking somewhat desperate to get his stick back.
OOC:
Yes, you are at a +7 to Fight. You can make it +9 if you want after the roll. You can always add these kinds of things after the fact. I will roll his Defend now and you can decide what to do.

You are doing 4 stress at this point. That's good...but 6 is better...your call.

Rolls

Slap shot defends with Fight (+5)

1 Positive, 2 Blank, 1 Negative - Total: +0

Keeping up the outward appearance of smug calm, Vitrius groans internally. First Echo loses her cloths, something that tended to favour women heroes in ratings, and then El Toro of all people shows up. Between the two of them, Vitrius feels like he's not going to get any camera time if he keeps up like this. He needs to put on a show. Unfortunately the people don't get excited unless the stakes are high.

Giving up for the moment the assault on Fastball, Vitrius flips off the roof, allowing his power to slow his fall, and landing next to Echo. The trail of glass behind him seems to swell, as he gathers more material, an briefly engulfs Echo in a tornado of swirling glass. When it clears, Echo appears to be wearing an elegant glass ballgown, though none of the glass is actually touching her skin. Vitrius keeps a few pieces of blunt glass close to her to track her movements, so that he can move the glass out of the way to allow her to fight, but anyone trying to attack her will get a face full of glass first.
OOC:
Rolling will to create an advantage, Glass battledress. The intent is to cover Echo to keep the focus on the fight rather than her, provide defensive cover to an ally who just got stabbed, and obscure her movements so that her attacks are harder to dodge. Echo can feel free to use the invokes as required.

Edit: Echo beat me to rolling, but I think you said I acted before? In that case if I get any invokes on the dress Echo could use it to improve her attack

Rolls

Create advantage with Will +11

0 Positive, 2 Blank, 2 Negative - Total: -2

Mar 30, 2019 5:55 pm
OOC:
I'll add the +2. I just want to blast him at this point.
Mar 30, 2019 6:06 pm
OOC:
I'll likely use my invoke on Arial vantage point to improve my roll by +2, since I'm going to lose that aspect when I hit the ground. I think it's justified, the vantage point allowed me to keep track of where Echo was and guide the glass accurately without putting her at risk
Mar 30, 2019 6:31 pm
OOC:
Yeah, if Vitrius just wants to assist Echo that is all good. At +11...super good...Echo has Glass Battledress as a layer of Armor 2 and invoke that to add to other actions if she wishes. And yes, the perils of PbP Vitrius's action technically happens first, but does not interfere with Echo, so that works out. Just a minor retcon to add the shiny new duds.
As Vitrius descends, Echo is wrapped in a flowing, shimmering layer of fine particles. The glass forms a barrier, covering her nudity and her wound. The glass flows with her as she tumbles and follows as she kicks out at Slapshot. Her boot connects hard, slamming his jaw shut. The heroes can also hear the telltale sound of bone snapping with the impact. The villain hears it.

Slapshot is reeling about, off balance again, and holding his face. Blood flows freely from his mouth and nose. They are probably broken. He looks like a feather could knock him over right now, but he recovers some and squares up. His throws his fists so his gloves hit the street and then come up into a classic hockey fighting pose. Some in the crowd starts to chant Echo's name, other's call out Slapshot for being thrashed by a girl (seeming to forget that Echo is nearing the Top 10 in rank and a renown fighter herself). A few cheers for Vitrius can be heard. It seems his gallant gesture isn't going unnoticed.
OOC:
Slapshot is filling his Moderate and Mild Consequences here. Broken Jaw is the Moderate, Embarrassed & Enraged is the Minor. I have never been really clear on how much I am supposed to reveal to players. I know Aspects are supposed to be secret on the bad guys so that you can find them out and use them against them, but you caused these Consequences so you get to know those for sure. I will say that these guys are not on your level. Slapshot is literally ready to drop. None of them have Severe Consequences or much stress. Another good hit on him and he's out of this fight. Anything more than a glancing blow will do. Blitzer has filled his Minor Consequence already, Fastball is unharmed at this point.
Mar 30, 2019 8:17 pm
Echo follows through on her somersault with unnatural grace. She finally notices that she isn't the only hero here. Taking in the gorgeous glass dress, she smiles and calls out to Vitrius, "Thanks for the save!" She wasn't exposed for too long, so hopefully the cameras would be back, and she could get back to the real show.
Mar 30, 2019 8:42 pm
Vitrius flashes a trademark smile.

"Always glad to help. Now let's finish these clowns, before any civilians get hurt"

(Sorry, gone all day yesterday)

For now, I think I'll use athletics to dodge Blitzer's shot, hopefully well enough.
