Maighan hurries after Mönkhbat, Nàdair and Roddric, Alata slowly making his way in the same direction. Maighan notices the same things the others did, Alata, with his snail pace, notices people hurrying into their houses, locking doors and closing windows.
Mönkhbat, Nàdair and Roddric move down the last street before they have a view of the gates when they hear a man's voice singing loudly over the hum. ... never know dear, how much I love you! Please don't take my sunshine away! EVERYBODY, SING WITH US!
You round the corner and see two dozen undead slowly shuffling forward, dresses in what could best be described as mix and match of worn down Sunday best; shirts missing buttons, half the shoes missing, suspenders loose on one side. They're clearly the source of the humming sound, their undead voices not forming words although their mouths make the movements.
All regular people have ran off, hiding indoors. One of the undead is dragging along a leg dressed in guard uniform, the other guard shaking uncontrollably next to the gate.
The singing man is a fairly tall human, dressed in even more worn down clothes than the undead; brown rags with big stains and streaks. On his head balances a weird crooked hat made of brown fur, or some kind of fungus. When he notices you he swings his arms wide open, a big smile appearing on his face. His robe falls open to reveal a bat family hanging on the lining, fast asleep.Welcome, friends! Glad you could join us! Sing this happy song with us as we make our way back to my wife!
