Paying no attention to the broken tooth stuck on her leg, Nàdair keeps focused on the mayor's mansion, wondering why Dairmuid would think Lady Elayne knows anything about his wife as she runs are fast as she can ...
OOC:
Run Nàdair run!
Unless something happens, I'll do that for the next 8 turns :D

Roddric wants to get to the MM as fast as he can, but also wants to lure some of the undead away from combat with his companions, at least for a few rounds. I would say he tries to lure them for 2 rounds, slowing periodically, facing them, waving his staff, shouting, but staying out of harm's way. If they are following then break into a run toward the MM after 2 rounds and hope they continue to follow, if they don't continue to follow, he figures that it buys the companions 4 rounds with less attackers.

Suddenly realizing just what's transpiring, and the threat to the mayor and/or her mansion, Maighan withdraws from her battle with the undead and starts churning her short legs to catch up with the flow of people and creatures toward the MM.

OOC:
Is it the players' turn? I know the undead made their opportunity attacks against Mönkhbat, but I didn't see any actions taken in their turn.
Sep 29, 2019 3:14 pm
Roddric walks away, trying to lure some undead with him and 4 start walking after him, shuffling forward while looking around, trying to find their father. They don't seem aggressive, except the one Roddric hit in the back of the head with Ray of Frost, but the cold lingering in his limbs makes him slower than the rest, too slow to attack.
Nàdair dashes away, also dragging four undead in tow. She moves fast enough that none of the undead can make an attack, although the one that attacked her before keeps snarling and snapping in the air angrily.

After seeing Maighan attack one of them and now with Mönkhbat out of the way, six undead attack Maighan in a raging storm of bites. (C, D, W, X, Y and Z)
Mönkhbat also finds himself attacked by six undead, some who followed him during his wandering around, some new faces. (A, E, F, G, H, I)

The last zombie still stuck in the web once again tries to break free again, getting kind of frustrated. Lucky for him his frustration gives him that extra oomph to break free!

uhm... Let's put it this way: yeah, if you want to you can give him bardic inspiration before you dash further away, but I am not sure how much use that is: after this attack of Mönkhbat there are 21 undead left standing that will keep attacking as long as anyone is attacking... I don't know how much bardic inspiration can do to fix that situation.

As Maighan tries to get away from the swarm of undead, she's wounded three times, and she lets out an unladylike howl of pain and anger as she tries to withdraw.

Seeing Monkhbat not showing any signs of retreating, she yells at him, trying to grab his arm as she departs, "We can't take them all... YOU can't take them all! If I stay, I die! We have to get out of here!"

The rules for the thriller piper skills:
1. You can use your action to play the song on an instrument, any undead within 60ft can be affected by the song.
2. The performance should be good enough to have effect, with a performance roll 10 you play the song well enough to be recognised, with a chance to persuade them to dance with you.
2. The undead will be divided into 4 groups (secret DM information) and depending on how high the persuasion roll is you'll have between no and all undead dancing after you.
3. As long as you keep spending your action playing the song the undead you persuaded to dance will follow you. You can roll persuasion once each round to try and get more undead to follow. Once you stop playing the song the bond is broken and the undead stop following you.

OOC:
there comes a moment in the life of every bard...
performance + persuasion 👌
Nàdair stops running as she notices Mönkhbat and Maighan being overrun by the angry mass of undead. How could she abandon them to their certain fate? With barely any hope for survival, the bard suddenly remembers how it all started: the undead singing with Dairmuid! These aren’t just any other undead: these are undead with good taste and some impressive moves. She has seen it being done, but could she do it? Could she play in tune with the dead and save the two living from certain doom? Could she really play like a necrodancer? A note hangs in the air as she starts playing... a detached voice, coming from nowhere and everywhere announces the show "Ahahahahahahahaha. It's close to midnight, something evil's lurking from the dark...
OOC:
if possible, i’ll dance them to the MM as I think of a better way to put them :)
So i’ll do a thriller action (with bonus illusion can’t rip if possible for the creepy voice) and a dance move

Maighan, feeling how badly she's hit and seeing Mönkhbat is not looking that fresh either, tries to convince Mönkhbat to come with her as she runs away from the undead attacks, when suddenly she can hear music.

The music comes from Nàdair, who, seeing her friends in need, and with the mind of a true bard, Nàdair starts playing a song that demands you to move your feet, unless you're truly strong-headed and can keep the compelling beat from taking over your body. Most of the undead look up at Nàdair, stopping whatever they were doing as their feet start tapping involuntary. They collectively break out into a walking dance, arms held up in a creepy clawing manner, body swinging and feet stomping forward to the beat. Just 6 undead, mind fully wrapped in furiously fighting, stay focused on both Mönkhbat and Maighan. Three of them (C, W, X) quickly trying to take a last bites out of Maighan's calves as she quickly runs away. Once she's far enough that they can't reach her anymore their heads snap up, focus on the fight lost, and they too fall victim to the spooky music.

Mönkhbat doesn't want to leave, not one to walk away from any fight, ever. He also truly doesn't want to be a slave to the music. So he grabs his greataxe and frenziedly swings it at undead A. The power that's behind his swing is so great the blade of the axe slices effortlessly through A and into F (WHO just wasn't fast enough to dance away), instantly killing them both. Swinging back he moves over A, now hitting H, who looks up at him with grave sadness in his undead eyes, mumbling why..? as he sinks to his knees, barely staying up.

Roddric kept trying to lure the four undead following him away, but once Nàdair started performing the song they all dance away from him, forming a group of 19 dancing undead in total.

Undead I, seemingly unaffected by Nàdair's song, sees how Mönkhbat isn't as stable as he once was and climbs up the man's arm, trying to bite in his face.

Having just 1 undead standing before him and another one on his knees, Mönkhbat doesn't skip a beat and brings is greataxe down upon undead I. After the first slash the undead wobbles a bit, but stays up, but the second one is too much and he falls over, into H, and both falling to the floor and staying down, eyes closed. It's hard to tell if they're (un-un)dead or just unconscious(-undead).
The second there's not one undead in a battle position the guard that has been playing an exceptionally convincing mural painting jumps into action, running up to the unmoving Maighan, shouting at Mönkhbat, his fear still evident in his voice. Tha-that was some great fighting s-sir. D-d-do you have any healing magic or potions or something on you that could help this woman? All I have is this Goodberry that was supposed to be my meal today, but she needs it more than I do.
He gently places the berry into Maighan's mouth, moving her jaws a bit to mash the berry up. As the sweet juices coat Maighan's tongue she gains 1hp and wakes up!

Meanwhile, moving further and further away, the undead dance party, led by Nàdair, boogies on towards MM.
OOC:
Roddric, do you join Nàdair, moving at her speed, or do you continue alone, moving twice as fast as the dancing queen?
Alata, after some last combat sounds now all that's coming from your right is the music, growing a little bit louder as you move forward.

distance to the MM:

Alata: 12 movements
Maighan: 18 movements
Mönkhbat: 18 movements
Nàdair: 14 movements
Roddric: 14/13 movements?

Combat over?
OOC:
I have the distance still up here mostly to keep track who is where and when people will arrive at the MM. And maybe someone goes after the dance party to hunt and we're NOT out of combat... Also adjusted the movement for Maighan, since an unconscious dwarf can't move;-)

Mönkhbat nearly swings his greataxe as the guard seemingly materializes nearby, his frenzied rage still in effect. He manages to catch himself when it's clear that the guardsman is not hostile, and the talk of healing and helping manage to pierce through his bloodlust. His anger dissipates, and his body sags into heaving breaths.

"Ain't got nothing," he gasps, "'cept some mead. Do dwarves like mead?"
OOC:
Mönkhbat now has 1 level of Exhaustion.

Maighan groans as she comes back to the land of the conscious. "Okay, that hurt. Remind me to never do that again," she mutters as she rises to a sitting position. She looks around slowly. "Are they gone? What... what happened?"

Realization dawns swiftly, and she starts trying to push herself to a standing position, though it takes a lot of groaning to get there. "The mayor's mansion... we... OW," she says, holding a hand to her injured shoulder, still bleeding. "We need to get there."

She adds as an afterthought, "And yes. Mead would be lovely..."
