This is the nature of PBP, in my opinion. We had several objectives to complete in Hochoch that could be roleplayed or not. We have been stating that we're not interested in RPing some activities (selling gear) while RPing others (training, funeral).
The disparate nature of our party also means we're not on the same page, plus it seems that some of us are pursuing our own agenda. That means different posts of back-and-forth engagement between us and the DM, which can translate to several real-life days depending on how active we are on the site. In-game we're spending at least three days in Hochoch, but there's no correlation of how quickly we'd actually get through those days, especially when we have different things to do.
Maybe we can do better in our agreements to skip time and move forward, or communicating when we're done and ready to proceed. I can understand how we're left twiddling our thumbs doing nothing while someone else is actively doing their own thing. However, I also don't want to deny another player the chance to RP or further develop their character beyond the numbers on the sheet. So I don't know if there's a convenient answer or solution to speed up the game, at least as far as how PBP is the venue for our participation.
I see what you're saying. I just want to make sure that none of the other players or the DM take my statement the wrong way. I definitely do not want to spoil someone else's gaming experience.
