With all that's happened, I'm going to assume that the party won't soon forget the location of this campground, so you each know that you'll be able to return later if you wish to do so.

Ok, so i will remove her armor for now from her sheet. Thanks :)

I just wanted to take a moment to apologize to the rest of the party. I joined this site as an introduction to D&D. I think my character may be doomed from my poor character creation, but I feel as though I need to play this out. I also wanted to thank the DM for being patient.

Well, I can't see your character sheet but I can tell you very few characters are "doomed." Your character may be sub-optimal, but that's not really a bad thing. The only time you need an optimized character is if either 1) all the other characters are optimized, or 2) the GM is running an unforgiving and lethal game.

Neither of those situations are true for this game.

You character is perfectly fine, arcane casters are hard to play and survive at level 1. :D

For critical hit, natural 20, we roll twice the dice?

Roll the damage dice again, then add modifiers; so your damage roll would be 2d8+3.

Ok i see. Thanks.

Going to try and start making bigger posts fewer times a day.

I will not-so-subtly remind/point out that characters need to pay their trainers when gaining levels.
Maybe the best way to deal with that is to sell everything we don't use and don't claim things for the sake of claiming. We can split the gold after, otherwise we won't have enough for those trainers. :)

Could the GM give us an ideal of the cost to get training? And the ability to sell magic items and how much that might bring? Just tp get headsUp on the situation.

Cost-wise, training is 15 eagles (gp) and 1 day per level.

...so if you're training to level 2, it would be 30 eagles and 2 days. Training to 3rd level would be 45 eagles and 3 days, and so on.

I realized recently that this wasn't explicitly described in the first post of the rules thread, so I added it as a note under the rule "Training to gain levels." Before that, we'd discussed it in the game thread, but that was months ago now and is hard to find (you'd have to know when Aanbo and Theran advanced to level 2, and nobody expects that).

Selling items involves:
1) finding a buyer. With many common items (such as weapons), this will be very easy and there are many possible buyers. With rarer items, there are probably fewer people who want to buy them, and some of them might be willing to buy for a lower cost.
2) Arriving at a sell price. The NPC will make an offer, which the PCs can accept or try to negotiate. This negotiation could be strictly role-play, or it could involve mechanics if you want to haggle quickly without so much conversation (this would be a CHR (Persuasion) check).
3) Making the sale.

More about sell prices:
The value of mundane items should be fairly clear, though the offer price may differ based on whether the person wants it for themselves (usually a higher offer) or they want to resell it (usually a lower offer).
The offer for most common items (such as weapons, armor, etc) will usually be less than the normal purchase price for a new item of that type (a beat-up, old glaive is perceived to be worth less than a shiny new one), while the offer for rare or unique items might be more than the purchase price of a comparable new item (an heirloom medallion, or a historical statue).
Magic items are interesting, assuming you can find a buyer. Some people will buy unidentified magic items on the hope that it's something good; this may mean that the offer price is much lower than the actual value (if it turns out to be a beneficial magic item) or much higher than the actual value (if it turns out to be a detrimental/cursed magic item). Identified magic items will sell for much more money than nonmagical items (of course, you might not want to sell them if they're useful to the party), but identifying the magic item requires someone casting Identify, and if that person is an NPC, that costs money, too. Still, it's likely that even a single common magic item will sell for more than enough money to cover the costs of training one or two Dungeon Busters.

Sounds cheaper to seduce a trainer, and get it for free. :D

Nothing I claim is just for me. Jonel has extensive experience working with a team. He would definitely split any gold from loot.
I rather like the paying for levels rule. Gives us something to work toward rather than just taking the next step.

Sorry, i might had miss that point, but is there an obligation to share magical items with Dungeon Busters leadership? Sorry, might had forgot about this when the NPC "onboarded" us. :)

Not at all.

Do Dungeon Busters have badges or anything identifiable so we would know this group is part of the same organization?
At a minimum, each of the "search party" (Arya, Manthis, Rosemary) have been supplied with detailed descriptions of Aanbo, Chase, Myrtha, Reptile (when he was still alive), and Theran (as an elf). That said, it would make sense that Dungeon Busters would have a blazon that describes how coats-of-arms and/or pennants should appear. I will say that it's something that we can come up with as a group, but the party hasn't had need of such and so hasn't made any yet.

That said: let's get some suggestions on what the Dungeon Busters would have as its coat of arms/collection of symbols that identify Cecily's adventuring guild! What do you think should be included?
Apr 3, 2025 7:50 pm
First suggestion would be a question if Madam Cecily had a crest of her own. We could base it off of hers to honor her founding the organization and add any extra flairs.
