Iko takes a defensive stance, keeping his eyes locked on the crazy-eyed thug. He addresses the other, sensing his fear at seeing his leader mutilated. "You do not have to die this way." He tells him.

Feng has totally surrendered her will to rage, and the sight of the other thugs still bothering her companions does nothing to quell her ghost. She barrels down the alleyway, crashing and shoving against any objects in her way. She still has enough sense to go after the one advancing on Iko, jumping off the wall she pounces on the knife-wielder, slamming him into the ground and punching him repeatedly, much as she can.

OOC:
Feng, I just noticed something that I should have caught before: It sounds like you are doing a Hack & Slash, which, in your case is 2d6-1. We didn't mess with the basic moves when we tweaked Immolator. Thankfully, it doesn't diminish the result of your "leaping tiger", but your "grab & choke" should have been an 8 rather than a 10. We're not going to retcon it though, because 1) I hate retcons, 2) that was damn cool, and 3) I unintentionally imposed a complication anyway in the form of:

When the thug leader hurt Feng, that should have triggered Fighting Fire With Fire! I'm sorry that I missed it, but we'll just call that unhealed damage the complication and move on.
Aug 6, 2019 4:39 am
As Iko prepares to defend himself, Feng leaps atop the knife-wielding assailant, wrestling the man to the ground. The unarmed thug, now faced not only with his leader's burning head, but also the fiery demon that slew him, turns around and flees.

The crazed thug is burnt half to death, but is still very much in the fight.

Meng can now see that Iko and Feng are involved in this fight somehow, though there's no telling if the wounded elf in front of him is an ally. Even though the two thugs are likely in the same gang as the one Feng is wrestling, there's no way of telling that for sure.

What do you all do?
OOC:
With a roll of 12, Feng could have chosen to deal an extra 1d6 damage with that attack, but doing so would have opened her to counterattack. Of course, she can just attack again now. Iko may attack as well.

Rong Hua smiled as she clapped her hands slightly.
Why thank you kind sir~ she cooed as she slid into the tent, casting a look around.

OOC:
I hadn't realised there was a Wu Meng post earlier, oops. Jumping into the fray now.
Recognising Iko and Feng, Wu Meng did not hesitate, but from within the folds of his robe flung an object at the nearest assailant. It was a chopstick, from the inn!
OOC:
Volley at the nearest attacker. Edit: Reduce ammo by one: thrown items now 2/3

Pinned on the ground by Feng, the crazed thug continues to fight like an animal. "Demon! Go back to hell! Aaah!"

The other thugs have enough brains between the two of them to realize the odds are against them, and attempt to flee. One of them still has Meng's chopstick sticking out of his shoulder. Do you pursue?

Feng continues her assault, trying to keep the punches going while blocking or dodging his own panicked strikes against her. "Not yet! Not while you draw breath!"

Iko, Feng, Meng

The thug lands a final, panicked knife-slash before Feng's onslaught leaves him burnt and bleeding out on the ground. The other two disappear into the shadows like sewer rats. Tamchim's elf, Dae-Won, is down on one knee, breathing hard, bleeding from a bad stab wound in the armpit. His hand still clutches his slender sword, but his arm hangs at his side.

What do you do?

Wei
You spot a trio of Hiptites gathered around a campfire. Before you can reach them, a pair of city guards stop you. "Whoa there. In a hurry, are you? State your business here." Opal City guards are notoriously lazy. This uncharacteristic vigilance must have something to do with the trouble in the Upper City. The trouble you're guessing Rong Hua had something to do with.

What do you do?
Rong Hua

You sweep your gaze around the interior of Atekhramun's tent, taking in the lavish furnishings, profusion of books and scrolls, and instruments of unknown function. Some sort of strong incense is burning, making your head swim a little.

Mei is not here.

"May I offer you food, or drink?" the sorcerer raises a pot of aromatic brown brew that almost drowns out the smell of incense. Almost. "Kaff. A wondrous brew from my home."

What do you do?

Wei heads towards the Hiptites when the guards step in front of him. Wei politely let's them speak before replying. "I'm seeking no trouble, just a close friend that should be around here. Allow me to pass and I'll quickly be on my way. As a show if good faith....alliw me to buy you upstanding guards a couple drinks."

Wei taps the side of his coin purse to emphasize his point.

Wu Meng greeted Iko and Feng warmly. "It is good you received my note and arrived as you did. Are both of you alright?" Turning to the injured elf, "And is he a friend, in need of aid?"

Wei

The two guards visibly relax, grinning. "Yeah, that's what we like to hear! There's a little watering hole over there. Come buy us a drink and we can part as friends. In fact, why don't we help you find your buddy so he can join us?"
Aug 7, 2019 2:44 pm
"I thank you for your assistance." Wei then proceeds to carefully look around the area. Acting surprised as he settles his eyes on the elvish tailing him, Wei smiles.

"Indeed my friends, there is a matter of importance that you can help me with. I'm looking for a close friend...of the female variety. I'm afraid a former abusive paramour is stalking her and means her harm. I think that he's hired a local thug to follow me in the hopes of finding her. What I need is for you to detain him, but not to hurt him."

Wei leans in and whispers conspiratoraly to his new friends. "It's the elvish male that's back there a few feet away. I'll give you the money for the first couple of rounds. Delay him and I will hopefully be able to get my friend away from prying eyes. All I need to do is speak to those Hiptite's and see if they've seen her. Once I get her away, I'll meet you at an inn of your choosing to celebrate my victory."

The shorter of the two guards nudges his buddy. "You hear that, Bao? This guy and his friend can read. I keep tellin' ya, if you wanna move up in the world, you gotta learn to read! See, he's even got a fancy sword and everything!"

The taller one isn't listening. "So where's your fancy friend, so we can go get that drink?"
Aug 7, 2019 3:02 pm
Wei nods his head in the direction of his Elvish tag along. Taking ten coins out of his pouch, Wei puts them in the hands of the taller guard. "Remember to delay him...not harm him. "
Aug 7, 2019 3:24 pm
The tall one takes the coins, but it's the shorter one that speaks again, "That knife-ears looks even fancier than you. I think I get it, Bao. Our new friend here has himself some competition for a lady's attention! Am I right, fancy-pants? Don't worry, we'll get him off your back and toast to you and your lady friend after."

With a wink from the chatty one and a grunt from Bao, the two move off and accost Sungyeol.

What do you do now?
Aug 7, 2019 3:48 pm
With a rather innocent looking grin on his face, Wei makes his way through the crowds of people. As he approaches the Hiptite trio, he pauses to consider how to proceed.

Stepping up to the trio, Wei politely clears his throat to get their attention.
OOC:
Should I roll anything to try and communicate with them?

Feng cauterizes the wound with a hiss, taking long deep breaths. "Took your time Weng." She wipes her hair to the side, andrubbing her bloody hands on the garments of her assailant. Looking over the corpse she decides to loot this thug, and the boss when she gets a chance. "We're fine. The elf was sent by Tamchin to keep us from going against him. I don't much care for him."
Aug 7, 2019 7:27 pm
Roll Fighting Fire With Fire if you wish, Feng.

Wei, you now have the Hiptites' attention. They look at you curiously, but say nothing. What do you do?
Aug 7, 2019 7:35 pm
Wei does his best to describe Rong Hua. Using both words and hand gestures, Wei hopes to see if the trio has seen her.
OOC:
The result of 8 gives me one question. I'll ask, What happened here recently?
