You both declare all your actions. You get all the bonuses and what not but Steef's actions get resolved first. So if you both attack and are one hit away from victory, each and you both hit, the win would go to Steef, but you would still get all your defensive/offensive bonuses.

So resolution order matters only for attack actions?

And Steef, would you mind giving me your Dodge rating? XD

Technically, this way of Initiative is a bit unfair: it allows the one who posts later adjust their actions - they see if the opponent defended or not, and what they rolled. I guess it wouldn't be much difference if we're fighting NPC, but with player characters... But we're Jedi, we don't fight each other usually, right? XD
As Steef moves in for a punch, Charlie watches him with attention of a snake lying in wait - or a shark, that would be more appropriate, - abd once the other Jedi is few steps away, Charlie jumps forward, grabbing his friend and attempting to spin and then throw him away from himself. (Not towards the starfighters, though - Charlie doesn't plan on doing property or friend damage.)
OOC:
"Watching" was Focusing x2 for 2 AP, so +6 on the next check.
Then it was an attack for 1 AP. My Martial is 13, +6 for focus, total 19.
Since it is hand to hand, if it hit, damage is: 8 (My Strength) + 1 - Steef's Toughness + Outcome (My roll result - Steef's Dodge). Correct?

Rolls

Friend Throwing

19 + [ 2 ] - [ 1 ] = 20

When steef sees Charile attempting to throw he tries to dodge him

Rolls

Reflex for dogging

7 + [ 6, 2 ] - [ 5 ] = 10

Yes, whoever posts last has a tiny advantage but it's a minor one in comparison with having a higher skill, stats or fortune dice. And yes, that is calculated correctly. A lot of this will be both of you receiving damage rather than just one or the other. Makes it feel less one-sided.

Did i do everything right?

OOC:
Steef, you gotta roll for your attack, and don't forget the remaining AP. Alo, correction to my post before: my dodge is 13.
...also, did my attack hit? :D Is Steef flying?

Edit: and you don't roll for dodge, it's passive. The passive dodge is the highest between Guns/Martial, and if use an AP, you get +3.

OOC:
You don't roll at all, it equals your highest value. I have Martial 13, my dodge is 13. :D
Jul 13, 2019 6:04 pm
OOC:
so ic no rolls right?
Jul 13, 2019 6:07 pm
OOC:
Yeah, no rolls for dodging! ...can you tell me value of your Martial and Toughness, so I do math for damage? XD

You have to roll for your attack, though - plus, you have 2 AP remaining (unless you used 1 for Dodge +3?). :D

ok my martial art is 13 and i will attack
Steef tries to attack Charlie while he is holding him and trying to throw him

Then the damage is 8+1+(20-13)-Your Toughness. So, 16-Toughness. What is your Toughness?

For an attack, you have to roll an open Feng Shui roll with AV of your Martial.
Also, here are all available actions for AP.

Okay, I'll put a recap here to help Steef.

You get 3 actions in a round of combat. Attacking, Focusing (adding a +3 to attack), Defending (adding +3 to defense) and moving are all 1 action each. So if, for example, you wanted to go all out offense you would Focus twice and attack. Or you could attack three times and hope that one of them gets through. You could also spend all your time Defending, as well.

In this case you have Steef attacking and that uses 1 action, but you've still got 2 to use. Only attacks are rolled. You go under Advanced and next to Add New Roll you click the drop down and select Feng Shui and then put your skill level in the AV part. In this case, Martial Arts which is a 13. And that's how you attack.

OOC:
Okay and the other two actions? Are you going to go for Focus to have a more accurate attack, Defending in order to be more cautious or just making a bunch of attacks?
Jul 13, 2019 6:24 pm
OOC:
