Sticking with the swing already taken ;)

Dagger watches silently as Heyop and Urik go at it. After they storm out their separate ways Dagger considers following one, but knows that will only make things a little worse. He instead turns to Kaveri in the now deafeningly silent room, "So...where is this ship, and how long would it take to get it here, do you think? Maybe a change of scenery would be good for all of us."
OOC:
Deleted my last post and updated for now. Better pacing.

The warden and the curator eventually rematerialize near Heyop after he has found a quiet place to be and appears to have settled his train of thought some. "To answer your question -- yes, there are some items that could use repair. These would help enhance the defenses of the Dawn Temple, especially if you're looking to be offworld for awhile. We can point you -- or your colleagues if they are more able -- to those items."
OOC:
Now's a good time for an XP reward since we're a reasonable "session" through this arc. It looks like I'm being coached by the written word to offer a base 20XP to everyone -- so, everyone gets 20XP. Heyop earns a bonus 5XP for seeking the nonviolent way to cure the Big Bad Mother Wolf and driving y'all to do so. (this is where I deviate from the text that says '1 or 2 xp' but knowing how XP expense works 1 or 2 XP feels too light as a bonus reward, so 5 it is).

The pair find Heyop with his back against a wall in an alcove sitting down staring at a thin beaded metal chain with a few dozen metal tags on it lost in thought. His eyes glossed over focus eventually as he shakes out of his daze, he quickly clutches the metal tags. Apologizing he keeps shaking his head slightly trying to clear the fog in it and has them repeat what they stated.

Licking his lips he inhales deeply before exhaling, "If it's mechanical or computer stuff I think one of the others would be better suited and you can let them know... If you have something that needs manual labor I guess I'm your guy... Other than that..." Heyop admits with a shrug his knuckles whitish blue around his fist, "I really can't do anything." Heyop stated before getting up and putting the chain around his next before tucking it deep out of sight.
OOC:
Edit: When do we roll morality stuff? I felt this was a test for me about justice vs cruelty with the animals. D=

The Curator and Warden wink out of existence and reappear to harass Dagger and Csillag about potential repairs to the security center to bring back some additional defenses.
OOC:
Dagger -- as a reminder, you have 2 critical wounds, mechanically it takes a week to enable a roll, so you guys would want to collectively decide whether to stay put for a couple weeks -- or a week or whatever.
Jan 28, 2016 9:30 pm
Point me to the computers, I could do with some work on technology. I'm about done with the wilderness outside, he states.

He spends time working on the computers in the security center as best he can over the next week or two as he heals his wounds. He also focuses on his blaster firing and even finds some vids in the archives on space flight. It's been a while since he has had to pilot outside of planetary atmosphere, so he brushes up his skills.
OOC:
I also posted in the XP spend forum, but I got Well Rounded so I was able to add Piloting (Space) and Ranged (Light) to my career skills. I then bumped each of those up from 0 to 1 with my remaining XP.

Dagger spends a day working on the computers systems in the external security center just behind the great hall of the Dawn Temple. Certain he's got things just where they need to be, he executes his code only to cause a klaxon to alarm loudly across the temple. It's loud enough it makes it extremely difficult for anyone to concentrate for the 30 minutes it takes him to rollback his change.
OOC:
Dagger, if you'd like to spend your 'week' of recovery doing this, go ahead and try again, adding a boost die for each additional day you work on the problem. Three purple is the difficulty.

If you do spend that week, let's also roll a natural heal, roll a Resilience check against either the easy (1 purple) or average (2 purple) wound. Take a setback if you spend the week working on the security systems versus keeping it very low key.

Heyop comes running in and looks Dagger over. As he finally silences the alarm Heyop misses a beat and yells, "TURN IT OFF!!!". After a few minutes of wiggling a finger in his ear and shaking his head Heyop finally asks now that he can hear, "You okay?"

Was he calling for help or did he just mess up... Heyop thought to himself standing fully upright and folded his hands across his chest.
OOC:
What do I have to do to assist him next time around.
Jan 28, 2016 10:02 pm
After his first failed attempt Dagger mumbles something about his wounds affecting his skills as he stomps off towards the living quarters to rest.
OOC:
Dagger is instead going to take it easy to recover and will let Csillag try her hand at it maybe. Or someone else good with computers.

The evening of the Day of the Klaxxon, Hethan joins several of you for the evening meal. She inquires after your plans -- and upon learning the plan is to let Dagger heal up before proceeding she nods sagely, "That seems like a smart idea. Not to be the bearer of bad news, but -- you should be aware that if the Empire finds those deposits on Phemis, they will lock them down -- seriously inhibiting your ability to get at them. Far be it from me to suggest you head out before you are ready -- but be warned that delay can put those crystals out of your reach."
OOC:
Someone with computers or a higher intellect than dagger can assist -- I think that leaves only Csillag. If she does so she can change the role to YGG from YG. Difficulty will remain at PPP.

Dagger -- go ahead and roll a PP or P Resilience check. Everyone else, let us know what your character is doing (or not doing) during this week of recuperation. Note: Csillag can help Dagger recover his crit and improve the chances of success should she will it.

Mechanically - you'll get it done, but it's worth having some sense of the # of weeks it'll take before doing so since that will change what I throw at you on Phemis.

Whats the travel time to Phemis? We can be doing some healing on the trip too, to reduce the total time.

I think it depends on the Astronav check to plot a course that doesn't kill us...

Csillag will offer her assistance with the computer and help him with his recovery as well.

"Let's see what I can do with this..."
OOC:
Is there anything I need to do to help with the recovery or is the simply statement that I'm helping enough?

After a week, Dagger is up and walking about like normal and you've managed to get one of the three systems the Warden would like you to fix back online. Some automated defense turrets are now back to operation within the Dawn Temple and occasionally the rotating, scanning turret startles you out of the corner of your eye, as you're not yet used to the additional movement within the temple.

Hethan gamely declines "gallavanting around after lightsaber crystals" as well beyond the pale for her. "I'll keep watch here," she says, "and see if we can't figure out where to find the third holocron." You find yourselves aboard the Kirtan Strider where Kaveri's innate agility enables her to be a competent pilot for you all. The aged G9 lifts into the air, unfolds its stabilizer foils and streaks into the sky -- and the space around Spintir. Within about 15 minutes, the jump to lightspeed has been calculated and you're at a safe enough distance you won't have troubles with the local gravity well -- and you're en route.

Kaveri's navicomp helpfully indicated that the trip should take about 3 weeks. Given the supplies on board, you'll likely need to stop somewhere after Phemis and resupply with foodstuffs and whatnot to make the trip back. In the mean time, you've got three weeks on a relatively small ship to yourselves where you practice whatever comes to mind. Heyop spends a fair amount of time in the cargo hold practicing climbing around, dodging around various obstacles he's put in his way and practicing drawing his blaster. In due course, each of you is challenged by the Mirialan and he's able to get his weapon out before each of you.
OOC:
Any items of note before I get to narrating arriving near Phemis?
Jan 31, 2016 11:46 pm
Dagger, now recovered from his injuries practices some gun work with Heyop. He does his best to keep his eye on the tempers of both Heyop and Urik, using jest and humor to try and keep the two from another shouting match. Three weeks in a ship can drive tempers up sometimes.
Feb 1, 2016 12:49 am
Heyop is for the most part silent unless asked to do something, in the quiet hours people probably notice the sound of boots pounding on the metal floor of the cargo area and the dancing tink of metal. He seems to sleep little and busy's himself with the mindlessness of just training.
OOC:
I'm good. If my XP purchases are good I'm ready, I'll train in the downtime unless there's work for me to do on the ship for the next three weeks.
Feb 1, 2016 5:19 pm
Urik spends a lot of time rummaging around the ship, learning everything he can about it. He's never had free run of a ship before, and is endlessly fascinated by everything aboard.
Feb 1, 2016 10:48 pm
Spending most of her free time with her head buried in various journals that she's brought along Csillag enjoys the relative quiet of the ship.
