"Well, someone's interest in their profession was a bit obsessive. One might even say it had "captured" their entire focus." Baenroth smirks at his own pun as he looks at the vial in an attempt to identify the liquid. "Anyone know what this might be? I wish I had a pocket on this prison smock."

You pull on the bookcase but months of malnutrition have rendered you too weak.

The footsteps seem louder.

You can’t tell the distance or the number, just footsteps. Baenroth feels hidden.

After a moment, the steps seem to disappear.

"What I wouldn't give for my familiar right about now. I can't hear the footfalls anymore. I say we make a break for it." Baenroth offers.

I agree. Lets get moving. Corelief will lead the way further down the corridor.

Lilcyra relaxes her tensed posture now that the immediate unknown entity has left, not even realizing she was so stiff. "The sooner the better."

Manages to get himself off the ground.

OOC:
Are you going back the way you came (the direction the steps came from) or down the stairs (the direction the steps went)?
Jul 25, 2019 12:12 pm
Corelief considers the situation, I think we should go back the way we came. Going down the steps probably isn't the way out.
Jul 25, 2019 12:15 pm
Darastrix will open the door and look out to see if the hall is empty so they can head the opposite way.

OOC:
GM, is there any way for our characters to know whether they are above or below ground? Any windows or anything?
Jul 25, 2019 4:12 pm
OOC:
With so many rooms Corelief believed we are on the ground floor or lower.
Jul 25, 2019 5:23 pm
"Labyrinth."
OOC:
At this point I'd argue heading up is the best bet, unless we are in some kind of underground caves or some-such.
